Taurus junk or my bad luck

Taurus

Graybeard of Graybeard Outdoors Forum has quite a thread on Taurus, apparently, he went from a love em attitude to a leave um in pretty short order due to recent purchases and recurring problems that did not get better after going back a time or two to Taurus.
Don ;)

I own 5 Taurus handguns, an 85, 94, 605, 606 and a 9mm Mellenium. I've put thousands of rounds through these guns without a single problem. Almost all rounds were full power loads. I wouldn't hesitate to use any of them for self defense.

I have had good luck with mine.....both Model 85's. One an alloy frame UL and the other a sweet shootin' deeply blued model with a 3" barrel.

-regards

ust lucky guess

Own two Taurus weapons a 44SS6 and a PT-140 .40cal , just fired round 2000. with the 44SS6 with no problems and the last 500 rounds were 200HXP with 26G of H4227 powder. Not sure of the numbers fired with the .40 cal I would guess around 600 to 700 rounds (bulk ammo box is about half full)

i had three different taurus revolvers al with three differnt problems. one of them was the cylinder failure.

What really torqued me was the fact that it cost me $54 to ship it to Florida for repairs! UPS has decided that all handguns must be shipped second day air.

I know, I went through the same thing! I sent my M85 UltraLite back to them since the cylinder would lock up every time I fired it. I got it back doing the same thing, and they STILL wouldn't pick up the shipping cost! They told me that I would have to send it back to them 4 or 5 times if they couldn't fix it right, with me having to pay shipping every time, before they would consider a replacement!

Buy a S&W. They stand behind their product, and pay for shipping the FIRST time (usually the ONLY time) if you have a problem. It never costs you a penny to have your S&W fixed.

I would have had more money into shipping the gun than what I paid for it, with no guarantee from them that they could, or would fix my M85. It was just a learning experience for me. NEVER will I buy a Taurus again.
