Taurus... I know but!

If you ever have to shoot that ported barrel at night, be sure to keep one ey shut. Try it and you will understand why...

It's not that Taurus revolvers are realy bad but that production on them tends to be quite inconsistent. In my lifetime I have purchased 6 Taurus revos (all 357/38) NIB. Three worked well but three (don't forget NIB) required that they be sent back to the factory for work. Once they finally got it right the Taurus revolvers were fine.

I own several Taurus revolvers and semi-automatics. All are of fairly recent production. (Last 3 years or so). I have had no problem with any of them; slow, rapid, SA, DA. They're well made, reasonably priced and have a super warranty. I also own S&W, Beretta, Bersa, Ruger. While the Taurus might not be quite the quality of the Berettas or Smiths, their quality is fine. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another and in fact am on my dealer's list for the first Taurus PT 1911 that he can get. Whenever that may be. "Fourth quarter" is the best you can get out of Taurus at this time.

I don't find that to be the case. I own a Taurus 85UL, a 85, 3"barrel, a 689, and a tracker 627 and find them all to have excellent fit and finish. While I own a bunch of Smith's I'll put my 689 up against any of them shooting wise and production wise...I forgot my PT 92AR...:)

I like my 627 a lot!

I've had mine about a month, maybe 250 rounds through it. The trigger has smothed out nicely and the accuracy is good. It was my first gun and I've become quite fond of it. I haven't shot anything but .38 specials in it yet, but I have .357s for home defense.

I own a .44spl that I love. I bought, put 50 rounds thru, and sold the .357 model hammerless.

I don't know what it was. The .44 has a nice trigger, has gone over 400 rounds without a hitch, it's a keeper.

The .357 hammerless started to bind (cylinder) within the first 6 shots. It didn't get better, it got worse. The trigger sucked. It had a hard pull and then it "paused" and then it would fire. The pause was just long enough to throw off aim.

I didn't want to mess with it so I just sold it. I don't know (it may be just me, I don't like that internal lock thing) but the .44spl without it, no problems, the .357 with it, many problems.
