Don't know where this came from, but I have been riding since 1970. I have owned (at last count) 70 bikes (five currently, although only one is a modern street bike). I've owned at least eight 80s/90s Hondas, as well as an '03 and my current '08. I don't own a car, so my bike is my sole form of transportation. Each Honda is better than the last.To give an example. Honda bikes are supposed to be well made and reliable, but bikes made before about 2002-5, especially in the 80s and 90s were better made, with a better finish and seemed to be tougher.
