Talk to me about IWB

I carry my PT745 at 11oclock in a Galco stow-and-go with a modified clip i added about 30 degrees of cant too.
I also use a Kholster at 10oclock with the same gun if i want my shirt tucked in.
Then my full sized 1911 goes at 3:30 with a small Kydex holster i made myself thats IWB.Its the most comfy gun and spot i own even tho the gun is pretty darn big.
anything for 10-2oclock should be a very small gun or the barrel will be poking your "man parts".
RKG- Im not so sure what you mean by
You can be injured if your holstered firearm is captured by an unintended sharp forward bend.
do you mean an accident discharge? or just a barrel type impaling?
As long as the barrel is rather short i have no issues carrying at those spots.

With an IWB, mostly in the summer, I carry at 2:30. The angle fits me just right.

In winter, with a jacket and belt holster, I carry at 4:00.

I practice with both.

holster not necessarily necessary

With the older style wood-panelled grips, the sp-101 can just be shoved, grip forward, between jeans and waist, at about 4:30, above one of your cheeks. The rubber grip above the jeans sticks the thing to the denim, as long as you aren't wearing them jeans all loosey-goosey. Works great, lasts long time.

Having used a mix of IWB and OWB...

... I will add that while there are times when IWB has its advantages (like concealing under a loose t-shirt), OWB is much more comfortable, so I usually use OWB and a loose, open overshirt over a t-shirt.

Given a finished t-shirt (IE the dressy types with thicker collars and colors other than white) and an open buttondown, I can usually look sport-casual and fit in fairly well at typical social scenes.

With either IWB or OWB, though, I carry strong-side at 3:30-4:00, with a moderate forward cant. Advantages of this position are that it keeps the gun off the point of my hip (comfort), and puts the grip in a position where I can draw even when seated on a chair, couch, or car seat.

This works for pistols ranging from P220 to CZ75 (full and compact sizes) to Commander length 1911's, and revolvers in GP100 and N-Frame flavors, although I wear heavier weight fabric shirts with the revolvers.

Still, all things being equal, OWB is much more comfortable.

Whether I carry OWB, or IWB, it's at 3:30-4:00 with a ~15 degree forward cant (sometimes called the "FBI Cant" - though the FBI never had an official cant, so that moniker makes no sense).

My gut's far too obtrusive for a 2:00 carry and 3:00 makes my entire right front pocket inaccesible (not something I can afford as I refuse to carry anything in my back pockets).

I've also found that this tends to make for the best concealment on my body (for strong side carry anyway). As with all things, your mileage may (significantly) vary.

I'm a lefty and I carry my Glock 22 (.40S&W) in a Comp-Tac IWB (can't remember the model) at the 8:30 position in a heavy forward cant, it keeps the heel of the grip from printing if I bend over and makes drawing easier. I use a 5.11 tactical belt (1.75") and I typically wear Levi carpenter pants (they have wide belt loops).

Most of the time I'll have my Surefire in my right pocket and a compact ASP baton in the "screwdriver pocket" on my lower right-side leg. Spare mag in my back pocket next to my Copenhagen.

I'm 6'2" and 215lbs
