Tactical Success Yields Nightmare Image

Humph! Lotsa you are obviously not fisherman. While the 4:00AM to 5:00AM, point of lowest activity thing holds true for most people, no self respecting fisherman would waste half the day away by not having been up for hours at that time of day. I smell setup here big time. Reno wanted a confrontation, the more blood the better. This ain't a dead of night raid. 5:00AM is the middle of the morning,,,,,,,,,in a fishing community.

You know, if the law was broken to such a degree that this level of force was needed, why is no one in jail.
Covert mission: No disrespect, but I DON'T want to live in a country where the LEO tactics you describe are S.O.P. In special situations, sure, I respect the need for LEO's to go home safely, but this...

Did your organization's SOP include pointing a Heckler & Koch MP5 submachine gun at an unrmed man holding a six year old child? If this was a well executed raid I would hate to see a poorly executed one.

Hardball, I believe I specifically stated that I would not have authorized the pointing of weapons at anyone who was not constituting a threat. The question of the warrant has already been answered. No, of course I wouldn't have entered the house without a warrant unless I had probable cause to believe the child wasn't safe. In point of fact, these family members were withholding the child in defiance of legally constituted authority. I know if it had been MY kid, I'd have wanted him out of there pronto. We could argue about it later in court, but I'd want him safe with me while we were doing it.
