Switching lubricants

Eezox is better than some, but worse than others. Trichloroethylene is a key ingredient. Here's the MSDS for it:

I didn't know about MSDS documents until I started reading about it on this forum (through a link to YouTube) some while ago. I check now and then.

I don't clean my guns as often as some, so I'm at risk for other things, but less at risk for chemical interactions...:D

Wow I expected one or two responses. Thanks for the information. And I'm considering switching to Ballistol mainly because I'm shooting more often lately and tend to clean multiple guns after each range visit. I've always worn rubber gloves for cleaning anyway and will continue to do so but I keep hearing good things about Ballistol and that it is generally less toxic so I'm going to give it a try. Just wanted to put a good plan in place for complete removal of the previous lubricant.

With regard to Ballistol being nontoxic -- German soldiers were known to drink it (digestion) and to this day it is used in certain spas in Europe as a body rub -- ah relaxation I guess.

Actually, I use it on the inner walls of my fiberglass Whaler -- great stuff.
