Switching from J-frame to K-frame

Savit - thanks for the tips on the holsters. My current wardrobe is rather limited. When I wear t-shirts, they are tight. I suppose I could conceal under them, but I'd need to be IWB with something small.

My other option common outfit is a suit jacket/sport coat, dress shirt tucked in, tie, and jeans. This is easy to conceal under, however, it's freaking hot in the summer. I teach at a university, where I can't carry anyway, and I carry my jacket with me until I get inside. I also hate driving in a suit jacket.

I need some type of clothing adjustment, especially if I'm going to carry a 4"-er. lol. I think a 2" would be a bit easier, however, I still need some new summer clothes, lol.

Colts are pretty expensive around here, but I'll start keeping a look out for DS and for some Model 12s. I don't think I've ever seen a Model 12 in real life, although, I've never really been on the hunt for one.

I may need to spend more time with my 2" model 64. I find I shoot my model 60 just as well. Once I switch to my 3" 65 or 4" 13 then I notice a preference to the k frames.

The Detective Special is an all steel gun. If you want light weight, consider a Colt Agent or Colt Cobra. They have great triggers. When I carry a revolver in a belt revolver, it's my Colt Agent in a Simply Rugged holster.

I'm kinda liking this one right now

A tight T shirt is going to give you issues with printing using a belt holster even with a small revolver like a J frame.

You're going to need something looser fitting to not print. At that point in the game, you might as well go back to a larger gun. A loose fitting T shirt with the right holster will conceal a large frame revolver (N frame) nearly as easily as a J frame. A K/L frame is a piece of cake.

If you insist on tight clothing without making any compromises, you're going to be very limited .

Hell, even a tiny little Ruger LCR is going to print like crazy in a pocket of tight pants, and going to be extremely difficult to draw effectively.

People say "dress around the gun" for a reason.
