Sorry....but things are quiet at the state level....
Well, I generally just get my magazines from the national NRA and send them a few bucks now and again. I did attend a Friends of the NRA banquet to raise money for their non political stuff (they had a great auction) and that was run by the state organization. I just don't participate in state or local pro-gun groups as I have limited time.
Politically guns are important to me but we have state preemption for gun laws and the State House, Senate and Governor's Office are solidly Republican so we haven't had any direct assaults on our rights for some time and there are none here at the State level in the forseeable future. In fact Jeb Bush got us range protection and improvements in the destruction of gun purchase records to prevent backdoor registration. He has also taken steps to ensure that our Concealed Carry Licensing system will remain protected even if Democrats take over the governors office.
The only local squall we had was four years ago when Miami-Dade County Mayor Alex Penelas illegally pushed through a trigger lock ordinance (it violates said preemption laws). Many gun owners quietly engaged in civil disobedience and the law was eventually overturned by the courts on that basis. Penelas also wasted our money trying to sue gun manufacturers but his case was thrown out of court as the baseless crap it was.
So in short, give your money to people you know are effective. I recommend the Swifties or the Martinez campaign. You might also consider giving Bush money because if the election is close he'll need it to fight Kerry's horde of lawyers.
You know John Edward's battle cry "What's in Your Wallet?"
