Suspicious stranger.....

Tueller radius - Dennis Tueller established that if a person is within roughly 21 feet of you and you have a holstered gun - if you stand there and try to draw, you normally cannot make it before your assailant reaches you. A knife wielder will do you in.

There are techniques of movement than can give you an option. Get a copy of Caliber Press' Surviving Edged Weapons.

Backpedaling, falling on the ground - nah!.

FUD, I know I am on your case. Buddy, a lot of stuff you ask can be solved if you take a good weekend long high end tactical course.

Gunsite, Insight, ThunderRanch, FrontSight, etc. Local places in Florida must have some. Don't know the area

Read some Suarez, for example.

A real course from a real pro is worth 1000s of posts.

You know, if your heart is set on knowing what the guy is doing, then next time you see him, walk up, introduce yourself, and mention you have seen him a lot of times there and writing and you wanted to know what his research was because you were intrigued that someone could find something so interesting in a food court. In other words, be very polite and interesting about him as someone who must be doing something really cool. Then gage how the guy reacts. If he is doing legit research, he may tell you about it and what he is learning. If he gets defensive, then you should contact the authorties because the guy appears to be exhibiting child-stalking behavior.

JJR, no offence was taken. I got the joke, but the pizza and water thing reminded me of when I actually did give up sugar for a week. Finding something decent to drink was a pain.
