Suspicious incident- thoughts ?

being aware of what is going on around you is great.. This event doesnt really sound like anything to worry about. Good job on paying attn:

I live at the end of a cul-de-sac at the bottom of a hill and have unfamiliar vehicals pull in and turn around all the time; maybe thinking it's a through street as it's not posted as a "dead end". I don't worry too much because an elderly lady a few houses up from me sits in front of her window most of the day taking license plate numbers of unfamiliar vehicals "just in case".

paper guy..

during my 12+ years on night shift as a beat cop got a lot of calls on paper delivery people.
Citizen usually said "never seen that vehicle before"
"stopped like they were looking at houses/cars" or
"weaving like they were drunk".

One guy said '' Nobody ever comes down this street at this time of day."
and he was getting the paper.
Lesson is people don't notice thing until they notice something.
The news guy had always came down that street. ALWAYS.

On being paranoid: After having a check stolen from his mail box a man said
"It has to be someone in the neighborhood. They must have been watching me when I put the check in the mail box."
I responded with "or they looked for the red flag raised on the side of the box like the mail man does."

From MaxHeadSpace:
If/when they follow me onto my property, which is "Posted" . . . then they're trespassing, and the "Castle Doctrine" applies.

Had you pulled INTO your drive, you'd be on your property and the Castle Doctrine would apply.

Be careful on that. In North Carolina (OP's location), the castle law applies if you are within your "home or other place of residence." Where I live, it applies if I am within my "dwelling or automobile." In some places the porch is included, and in others it is not. In some places, one's place of business is covered.

I strongly recommend that everyone become familiar with the law in his state and in every state through which he may be traveling, and to not make decisions based on statements on the internet.

I do not get out of my car upon arriving home if an occupied suspicious vehicle is stopped nearby unless I am carrying.

I've done something like that before, the pause in the cul-de-sac is for checking my GPS. I will usually make sure cars that follow me for more than a turn or two do not see where I actually get out of my truck. Too bad I have a pretty distinctive truck (in my small city anyway).

so many thoughts on this one,
Last night approx 2244 local made a left hand turn onto my street
The subject of this sentence is?

Your behavior was fairly normal until you decided to go and post this non-event online.

Lost guy probably called somebody.

Why would you approximate the time at 2244? I think most people would assume a time at NIGHT is PM and go to 1045 AKA a quarter till 11.

Just giving you a hard time, When I was deployed I wore a watch that used military time but was constantly converting back to 12 hour when I looked at it. Now I wear a watch with hands and everything seems to happen in 5 minute increments when I log things. :)
