I know exactly what all of ya mean but I am not retired. I am only 22 and I have bought 7 guns this year.

I'm in the EXACT same boat. I've been 22 for a month now and came home last night with my 7th gun (stainless Sig GSR Revolution with rail). I didn't even make it 3 months since my last purchase.

Tell me how that sig works out for ya syntax. I have never made it 3 months since. The longest I have made it was 2 because I was unemployed. I have learn that the trick to all this is not to let our girlfriends/wives know that we buy this many guns. Has anyone besides me ever bought 2 guns in the same day?

Unfortunately my budget doesn't allow be to get "addicted". But when better times arrive, I am sure I will be vulnerable. Till then I stick with my HK USPc.

Twice now. Last june I picked up a Bersa Thunder and Taurus 651SS at a show (at least they weren't high dollar, right?). A few months prior to that I ordered my Steyr M9A1 and USPc .45SS on the same night.

It's not cheap feeding them all, either.

Funny thing is, my girlfriend usually does jump me for looking to hard or seriously considering buying any gun. This time, I was wanting to wait until Tuesday and she wouldn't stop pushing the purchase on me. She was worse than the sales guy!

This could get real bad if she keeps getting more and more into my hobby - I used to take her to gunshows to keep me level headed, but now I fear I will come home broke every time. :( / :D

i gave myself a limit

i had to give myself a limit because i too have disposable income now unless i can just get it for a price 100 or 200 under blue book i wont let myself buy it and i have been doin pretty well with this the safe is getting less crowded.

Is there a 12 point program for gun addiction??

Bankruptcy and unemployment might help to curtail your addiction. But, once you're addicted to guns, there will always be that "gotta have" gun that you don't have just over the horizon. You might think you have all the guns you could ever want, machine guns, pistols, revolvers, etc. etc. Then one day you will see a hand made shotgun with engraving done by Francesca Fracassi, and you'll say to yourself "gee, I never even considered wanting a fine shotgun or something that is engraved.....". The next thing you know, you'll have to explain to your wife what happened to $200,000 of equity in your home.:D

No, this is not a true story, if it was, I'd be typing to you from the grave!

You guys think...

...buying guns is problematic, wait until the custom gun symptoms kick in, you'll see your money disappear like never before. And, it's exponential, soon, every action you see conjures visions of new barrels, different cartridges, even an odd round at the range causes severe pangs for another gun. And then, when one shoots especially well, the fever gets even worse. Soon, custom actions and single cut barrels are all you can envision. It never ends......

Best treatment for gun addiction is not having any money to spend on them. But it can sometimes be a short term fix. Seeing how once money starts flowing again the uncontrollable urge to purchase starts up even stronger than before. And then you end up with a lot more than before the money was scarce.

I figure they're either reading every thread on the forum, or they're actually using the "search" feature. Either way - good on them!

4. Made a searching and fearless inventory of our collection.

5. Admitted to no one the exact nature of our caliber choice.

6. Made a list of the ones with issues and became ready to repair them.

7. The ones we couldn't repair referred to the Gunsmith.

8. Made a list of all things we had killed.

9. Search for more to hunt!

10. Made daily additional inventory of the additions since this Step 4.

11. Continued to seek help from LGS, TFL and the range officer for gear advice.

12. Search for others to drag into this obsession for justification!
