Summer Pocket Handgun

Ruger LCP or Ruger LC9, or Smith and Wesson Airlite T. They all give me confidence. The LCP is most often in my pocket though. It is the most concealable.

Dunno if you're into biker chic, but I've seen more than a few young guys carrying the wallets with chains around.

Here's what I am using on the bike, for my Kahr P380:

It's good summertime wear on a Harley, because you're always taking off the jacket or vest during stops. This lets you keep the pistol with you regardless of what else you're wearing, looks just like a chain wallet, and I haven't noticed any issues with wearing it on the bike or in a car, it's reasonably comfortable.

Just another option.

Best with your decision...

Elsie Pea! 100% reliable with a wide variety of ammo since the first shot. Probably around 500-600 through it so far. I always run a few through it every time I'm at the range. Just to keep Elsie, me, and my ammo fresh. Nearly disappears in a Desantis Superfly pocket holster in any pocket!

Could you do a rear pocket carry or IWB with your J frame? Carry whatever weapon you believe will work best for you if you ever need it.

Sure I do......

Walther PPK in a pocket holster - 5 months out of the year here in Bama' since May-Sept. is "summer".

Ruger LCR in either a Nemesis or Uncle Mike's fits in all my pants and shorts, right front pocket, and I'm not a big guy. A few leave the butt showing a tad which is remedied by a t-shirt or polo. Most are long enough to cover the pocket opening. The DBs should be no problem at all.

Hope to get a P238 one day, but until then .. :)

Chamber a round then leave it loaded . The more you mess with it the more likely you will end up with a discharge . Repeated chamber of a round is also bad on them '
These guns are safe to carry loaded in a proper pocket holster Do you carry your S&W with a empty chamber in case trigger is pulled by accident .

If any thing sounds like you need to learn how to chamber a round in a auto.

Me, I have a Sig P238 in the front pocket, one in the tube and the safety on.

It's hard to find a holster for the P238TL, but it stays in a decent position the entire time, and I'm happy with it. At least, until I get my New Agent. :D

I carry a P3AT in a pocket holster always chambered, even when I have my G26/CBST. Keep it holstered and chambered. This fits in every pocket I have from jeans to all my shorts.

I rarely wear anything but shorts in the summer, since I'm retired ... I do volunteer work at the local library several times a week and wear jeans, but state law prohibits carry in libraries, so it's not an issue. I can't pocket carry anything when I'm wearing jeans and when I do wear slacks, like Dockers, I find that their pockets aren't big enough to carry anything substantial. I always check shorts before I buy to make sure the slash pockets are deep enough for pocket carry; my normal EDC is a Kahr PM9 in a Mika holster ... if you're concerned about tactical looking clothes, take a look at Coronado vests. I have one in beautiful brown leather; their inside pockets easily allow you to carry concealed with no tactical look and no printing ... If I'm going out and wearing slacks, I wear the vest ...

Cargo shorts, the Jframe goes in front pocket in pocket holster.

If shorts don't permit front pocket carry, its rear pocket. I just have a shirt on that's loose enough and covers my jframe including butt of grip if its barely sticking out.

Wear Cargo Pocket Pants or Shorts almost exclusively, very easy to conceal a handgun with them. I hate suits and ties, the only tie I will wear is a black Law Enforcement tie that velcros in the back of the neck.

Most of my shirts are Military type with long sleeves, I roll them up in the summer and down in the winter, I prefer two chest pockets with flaps.

Almost all year around I wear hiking boots with vibram soles.

Almost always wear a Patriotic hat or a Military hat or an NRA hat.

Always dress around the gun, not vice versa.

See guys wearing fanny packs in front, vests and suit jackets in the hottest weather and shirts not tucked in, does not concern me a bit.

Not concerned about fashion, what I look like or what people think.

Sometimes depending on injury, disease, surgery, disability, and so on it becomes complicated regarding what clothing a person can wear. In my case I wear women's stretch pants. No rear pockets, very small front pockets. Have not been able to wear a gun belt for a few years. I see my error. Since my J-frame flops it's factory small grip out of the tiny pocket, the t-shirt I had on should have been a size larger or a Hawaiian type shirt. When seated at a hotel dinner, the added length of the shirt would have covered the grip of the exposed handgun so the guy sitting next to me was not alarmed. Instead of buying a pocket auto that fits these pants with a regular t-shirt. My plan is to seek different shirts that go down far enough to cover the area.
I've visited some websites regarding shirt options for those who carry. I'll visit them again.

Usually the deeper the pocket the less chance the grip will peek out. You might try taking a handkerchief and flopping it over the handle in your pocket. It's probably a cheaper solution than a new gun and carry rig, though not nearly as fun.

I have similar problems with the LCR depending on the pants. No problems at all with any pants and the LCP.
