Summer conceal carry gun options?

:D This is more for laughs than for anything else. BUt what kind of gun do you think would be suitable for conceal carry when going to the beach or the swimming pool.

Remember you are wearing swimming shorts and maybe a T shirt (usually worn when your out of the water) and tennis shoes which are worn only out of the water.

Also remember, sticking the gun in a backpack or fanny pack and leaving it by the pool chair or beach towel is while you swim, in my opinion, not the best idea in the world.

Soo :D where does this leave you. What kind of gun could you possibly wear in all occasions while your enjoying the summer under the sun at the beach/pool? Well, first thought would be one of those little Glock 9mm (I think it's the glock 26). You could wear it in a small pocket in your swimming shorts. If some crazed terrorist enters teh pool area and sprays everyone with an uzzie you can pop up out of the water like a navy seal with gun ready and drop him. (thinking of Steve McQueen in the movie Nevada Smith where he sticks his head up out of the swamp with his Colt .38 ready and shoots down the prisoner he escaped with...and that was with a Colt revolver....hmmmm) If your at the beach and some shark (Remember Roy Schieder in Jaws 2? Runs all over the beach with his M15 waving all over the place  to shoot at a school of bluefish in the water) or even divers sent by a James Bond villian ;) swim up to you you can whip it out and fire at them even under water (isn't that one of the features of the glock is that you can fire it even in salt water?)

What kind of waterproof guns are there that are summer friendly? :)

I hate to do this, I really do

However!!! Remember the movie Pulp Fiction. The scene where Jon Voight delivers the watch to little Butch. Remember where it had been hidden for x number of years. Well if you find a gun small enough, or large enough (whatever the case may be) then you will know how, and where to carry at the beach this summer.

Just don't forget where you hid it when you go to the rest room... ;) :barf:

Clearly the S&W Model 500 with an 8 3/8" barrel is the weapon to carry when at the beach. It's stainless steel so it resists corrosion, powerful enough to keep great whites at bay, and when carried under your trunks in a custom SmartCarry holster it's capable of really impressing the ladies.

A well lubed and hard chromed P32.

Light enough not to drag your trunks down and water resistant enough to be fine till you get back home to dry and relube it.

Easy to do. Have a interior pocket sewn into the swim trunks large enough to accomodate a Kel-Tec P-32/P3AT. It won't be the fastest draw in town, but it'll work.

Laughs?

I was minding my own business in the hot tub 50 ft from my apartment door.

Some thug residents sized me up at the other end of the pool area,
getting their gripe on... and when I left and had to pass by near them they jumped up and were manifestly intending to stomp me and my roomate.
We barely made it inside.
Last time I go anywhere without a gun.

Think that you are safe at the hot tub?

Yeah, that is a laugh.

I tried to find it, I forget if it was on TFL or THR (and I can't search THR due to a certain banned problem :o ) but anyone remember the guy who posted about being, well, "rolly"; the thing with the duct tape and a "roll" as his method of carry at the beach?

Me, I just shove an 8in GP-100 into my trunks. All the ladies take a second look and wonder why "it's" so shiny :D j/k

I don't do beaches. I don't know why. I like to go and look but I don't get dressed up in trunks to do it.

Come to think of it, I don't do public pools either  .

But in Edison Carter's example, I would have a gun in a towel(sp) next to me as I was in the hot tub (on the edge).

**and EC, get this, people on this board have laughed at some of us because when we are in the shower/tub, we have a gun in the room with us. Your example points out that you're not safe anywhere because anything can happen. Whether you are in your apartment, or 50ft from it**

Bullrock and ATK525

There was this guy who wanted to be popular with the girls at the beach...
Just like the Lifeguards.

He asked one of them what to do and was told to put a potato inside his swimsuit... "That'll reel 'em in.", said the Lifeguard. ;)

About a week went by, and the Lifeguard saw him and asked how things were going for him.

With a very long face, he said, "Oh it's really bad. Much, much, worse. The girls avoid me now, and they won't even talk to me anymore.

He said that he had done just as the Lifeguard told him, and put a potato inside his swimsuit."

The Lifeguard, sympathetically checked him out, and said...

"I think it would be better if you put the potato in the front." :p

Where did you guys think you should carry at the beach? :D

Uncle Mikes's IWB and a Smith 642 or 442. Clip the whole thing to your shorts waistband (I use 1:00). Drop the t shirt over it.

Easy.

I've carried my Glock and my KelTec in my Ultra-Hyde holster to the beach. Both guns are durable enough, and easy to clean, to make them an option to take into water if necessary. And the Ultra-Hyde holster (similar to Smart Carry or Thunderwear) is made from sport nylon, the same as swim trunks, so it's a better choice in my opinion to take into water than the other two which are made from denim.

I bought it on GunBrocker.com but they have a website too at HideYourGun.com

I would suggest a NAA Mini in 22S in a Kydex Butt Thong concealed holster.

The holster is made by Backsidearmour (sorry, Pat) but this was for laughs. :D

However or whatever you choose to carry at the beach (or even the pool although salt water is much worse), you'd damn well better be sure your primers and neck of the round are sealed, and you might as well stop off at the range on the way home (from the beach) and fire them off and replace them, saltwater is hell.
