Suggestions for bedside holster?

I actually wouldn't suggest a bedside hlster as a primary storage. If it is going to stay there day and night (which I assume it does since you said you keep it under the bed and it gets dusty) I would suggest putting the money into buying a cheap nightstand at a flea market or thrift store. That way you can put a padlock on the drawer during the day and then open the lock and leave the drawer open at night for easy access. I keep my HD gun in the drawer next to my bed in a foam cutout I made to hold it in place.

Have the wife hold it while you're sleeping.

But seriously, why can't you just stick it between the mattress and the box spring with the handle slightly poking out?

Diamond Sentry Distributors markets the "Night Sentry" (diamondsentrydistributors.com), a section of Kydex-type synthetic material that fits between your bed's box spring and mattress, part of which extends out, folds down and has slots to afix any type or form of holster. In addition, it has provisions for holding a flashlight and a speedloader or a cell phone or pepper spray device, all within easy reach. The weapon and accessories can be hidden by draping the blanket/bedspread over it. It costs $25.00 plus shipping and I highly recommend this product.

Wall mounted gun box

This looks like a pretty good product. Far less cheesy than some of the others I've seen. Can you provide any pics of yours? Empty and filled? The website has only 1 weak pic on it.

Sorry, not set up for pictures. But I can assure you it is well-made- for all that it is. I keep a revolver (4'"barreled 686- you provide your own holster), a flashlight and a speedloader stowed in the unit. All that is necessary to access any item is to let your hand drop over the side of the bed- takes only a second. And it's beneficial to be able to cover everything up with the bedspread.

dgludwig, can you tell me what kind of holster you use? I have the same gun (686 4"), but I don't own any holsters yet.

duuchfho: Because the holster is not being used for carry but is in a static (storage) mode, a relatively inexpensive Uncle Mike's "SideKick" synthetic holster works perfectly.
