Suarez Flashlight Finger Ring mod. Cool beans, indeed!

Check out this tactical lanyard setup from Firearms Tactical:

Tactical lanyard

I can see the design. It's real simple. Use the lanyard ring that Surefire sells. Loop your lanyard around your palm. Their design includes a sliding catch to help adjust the lanyard length.

It might be worth the 11.40 +s&h to many people. I think I'll improvise with my own lanyard rope. Same idea. Attach a lanyard ring to the SF 6P. measure the right length of rope and loop thru. Tie off. Then wrap the double rope around my palm and loop the bezel of the 6P. Does that make sense?

Do a google search using these keywords: tactical lanyard flashlight. firearms tactical has two pages with different views of the lanyard and light in use. It's cool. The images show a mag change while keeping the light in your palm.

Hey Gabe: what do you think of this lanyard? It's a little more secure than the keyring/grenade pin. Care to comment on the tradeoffs?

It looks like a system of actually lashing the light to your hand. I think I saw Andy Stanford doing something similar a few years ago.

Overall its a good system. The only issues I have are that it takes time to put on. Often we have a light with us and not expecting a fight, thus we may not have deployed a lanyard. The FB Ring is almost automatically deployed as soon as you grab the light.

Second point is that the FB Ring allows you to release the light if a BG grabs it and is using to leverage your arm/hand. The lanyard just gives him something else to grab on to.

As an aside, a Counter Terrorist Group that was in one of my classes recently has adopted the FB Ring as their "lanyard".
