As far as I know, the oath I took when I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, did not have an expiration date.

And besides. Everybody dies someday.

I've taken an oath as well. I'd defend the ideals of this nation.
 
I solute you one and all. I am too old and fat to run so I'll have to fight. However, someday no doubt fighting will escalate, it has already started, Ruby Ridge, Waco and Miami most recently, but we still have the vote why not use it? Our enemy is in plain sight, it is those in elected office who enact unconstitutional legislation. And they are none other than democrats and republicans, are they not? I am calling for Americans to use their power of the vote by voting third party come November.

Just watched a video created during and About Desert Storm, Of which I saw through from beginning to end, Still got a lump in my throat when I watched it and listened to them sing the National anthem. and with that all I can say is God Bless America.......

Never wore the uniform- tried as a senior in HS. I had bronchitis at 14, the putz Army Dr said I was treated for asthma and disqualified me :confused:. No a big loss for me, as I have come to the conclusion that I am constitutionally unsuited to deal with the "S.N.A.F.U." environment that I understand is the norm in today's military, by what I've heard from people I know who've been there and done that. Not a disparagement on those who have, or currently, serve(d). The problem is the current administration, and I commend those who are in uniform now- y'all put up with more bologna than I would be willing to! :)

That said, I can and will fight if called to. If/when the day comes that we are declared chattel of the State, they will doubtless come to "collect me for reeducation", and my wife, too, as we both are not the sort to say "yessirnosir" just 'cuz the Grubmint says "jump!". I will not stand idly by as decent, honorable men and women of integrity are herded up and subjected to abuse by the souless, greedy powergrabbers. The character flaws that make me unsuitable to be a soldier also make me a less-than-ideal candidate for "reeducation". :D

I get a lump in my throat looking at the flag (the TX one, too! ;))- I realize that I am privileged to live in what is still arguably the most free nation in the world. I also get sad, and angry, as I remember what I learned from history about how the US used to be, and what it could have been at present, if not for evil men like Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt, and Lyndon Johnson :mad:. Yes, you read that right.

Sorry for the rant, folks. It's late, I'm tired and can't go to bed 'cuz I'm at work :(, and feeling bellicose due to our current epidemic of Arkansan hubris. :D

Count me in. I wore the USAF uniform for four years, twenty years ago. Uncle Sam taught me to shoot expert marksman with the M16, and I haven't forgotten how. ;)

I'm truly grateful to see that others get a lump in the throat, and a tear in the eye whenever they play the National Anthem, or unfurl the American flag. God, I love my country.

I'm willing to fight and die for the cause of freedom, for my sons, for my daughter, for the future of my country. If it's not worth dying for, it's not worth living for.

Well, it ain't gonna be guns.
It is politics, the media, progaganda, lies, "divide and conquer", and worst of all:
COMPLACENCY and slow erosion of our Rights.

They will take us one by one, in the smallest groups possible. They are smarter than to face us head on.

Like Susan asked: how many of you were at the MMM/SAS marches last week?

THAT is how the will beat us, is by us sitting on our duffs bitching about how bad things are while they erode our Rights away. We allow them to take a little at a time, one groups at a time. First AR's, then semi autos, etc etc etc until only the hunters are left, and they will be easy to take.

All this is accomplished by politics, propaganda, media, political correctness etc.

Let's act now, before we have to die. Vote, Write letters. Take an anti shooting. Join 5 people that you know to the NRA and GOA. Speak out. With over 80 million gun owners in this country, if even a lowly 1% of us are active in fighting for our Rights every day through political pressure, there is no way we can be beaten.
 
I'll begin my rant here. I spent almost ten years doing stupid things to my body to "Protect and Defend the Constition of the United States against all enemies...." When I hit 9 1/2 years, I had a training accident that destroyed my ankles and knees. I was put out on a disability, and picked up a job here and there to help support my obligations (child-support). I found that I couldn't perform most physical jobs due to injuries, and didn't have the education to do less physical jobs. The Veterans Administration moved to correct this by sending me to college on the Govt's tab. Great! Of course at this time, I was unemployed and petitioned the court to grant me a moderate reduction of child support so I could afford to go to school. My Child Support was set using my Sergeants pay, and I wasn't making anywhere near that ammount now. The Judge instead of granting me a reduction, held me in contempt for falling a few hundred behind, and sentenced me to 30 days in jail, and every day there after until I paid the 290 I owed. Flabbergasted! The whole while I was standing there, mouth agape, It was running through my mind that:
1. Debtors prisons are specifically outlawed by the constitution.
2. I swore an oath to that constitution.
3. A Judge (republican by the way)ignored the fact that I was medically unable to earn the pay I previously did, and that I was paying what I could when I could. Both me and my attorney were in disbelief.
I was able to escape jail by borrowing the money from my grandmother who took the money from the cancelled trust funds of the two children I never get to see anyway (due to frequent denials of visitation.
(Stay with me, I'm going somewhere with this)
My ex is presently dating the attorney she is represented by, and therefore gets some really great deals on fees. I cannot fight this anymore. It has costed me and my present family tens of thousands of dollars over the last 6 years, and we've nothing to show for it, but that I'm on a suspended sentence and under threat of going at any time to the Harris County Debtors Prison.
These single mother laws that take discretion from judges is the most absolute crime to happen in the past 10 years. My ex isn't destitute as she lives with mom, and has been pursuing a 2 year degree for six years. She's been to the Bahammas twice while having never worked a full time job in her life. Ten years ago, the judge may have thrown her out of court. The reason we have these laws is that our Chicken S--t legislature takes our money from the Federal Government in exchange the pass the laws that the Feds want them to pass.
Here is where I stand. I now live my life in a state of nothing to lose. I keep no assets of any particular value. I own nothing that could be taken from my family or attached to my estate. I only purchase firearms and ammunition now. I am considering fleeing to Costa Rica to escape the Unconstitutional persecution by the family courts. Imagine fleeing the United States for Central America to escape political persecution?
Every one of you will have a negative experience with the government. Every one of you. Some of you will go to jail for it in spite of any mitigating circumstances on your behalf. Many of you in the next ten years will have a home confiscated to pay exorbitant taxes to provide services you find repugnant (for me it's abortion, but you can pick from thousands of disgusting services). If GW don't fix things quick, (by the way I'm not voting for another damned Republican), you will see blood spilling in the streets within 15 years. Sad but true.
How can you avoid this? VOTE LIBERTARIAN. I mean it. Okay, so you're thinking a libertarian vote is a vote for Gore; then vote Bush and for a Republican Congress, and try voting libertarian on the local levels. Vote for Libertarian Judges, and Libertarian school boards, and water districts, and all the other small positions on the ballot. This will serve to wake up the Republican Congress, and the Executive branch. Both parties will notice when Libertarians start filling positions as judges, state reps, and all the stepping stones to real power.
Judge Black Hawk, I'm with you. More than you know. I may be leading the fight in a few more years, but God I hope not. I want to live in peace and raise children who respect the law when the law is just. I don't want to die young, and I don't want to pick a fight with a 2000 Lb bull. Many of you don't know how close you are to what you're talking about, and if you do, then please, please, please:VOTE, WRITE, and DEMAND restoration of our Bill of Rights. If you don't-you piss on the graves of the thousands of men who didn't come back to see their children. They fought for an idea. Not a piece of dirt (country) Not a piece of cloth (flag), but for the idea that we have certain inalienable rights. They fought, but did not want to die. They died by the thousands. Do your part now, and shoulder your obligations to be a citizen or you will be a subject.

kjm, I'll vote for you. Thanks for speaking out. Waking up fellow citizens to use the vote is the only hope we have to save our freedoms without an all out bloody war. The problems you addressed in injustice is rampant and ongoing for many years under republican and democrat politicians in elected office. I can only see government oppression getting worse under their unconstitutional agendas. And I do not see them changing as long as citizens keep voting for them. Rest assured I am on your side and will vote to stop our enslavement by voting third party.

Are you a little slow? After you (with a little help from me) caused the demise of the Charlton Heston thread yesterday, by debating about voting third party, one would think that you would have the good sense not to try it again so soon. I really have to wonder about your motives on these forums when you continue to go against the wishes of the moderators. Or could it be, that you are just a little "slow?"
