Anybody else here prefer stainless over blue?

Nice assortment. I'm someone who believes wheel guns should be shiny and semis should be dark. Just a personal preference. Since stainless is a type of steel through and through, and not a surface finish, it's MUCH more durable. Taken reasonable care of, a stainless gun will look brand new when it's 10 years old.

I go through different cycles, now it seems that nickel is my favorite. I am sure that I will get around to Stainless again.

I love stainless and all things being equal, I go stainless with one exception. I think, and prefer, that my 1911s are blued or at least dark. Not sure why, but when push came to shove, I bought a coated 1911 because I thought it looked better and looked like a 1911 should.

90% of the time, I will go with stainless over anything else. One gun I've been wanting, STI LS40 is in flat black, and I actually like the look of it that way over stainless. Don't know why, but I just do.

What's not to like about stainless...no holster wear, much lessened worries about rust, easy to clean, easy to polish out scratches, gun looks good indefinitely with reasonable care. I finally sold all my blued guns and went 100 percent to stainless because I got tired of trying to maintain the delicate blue finish on guns that see a lot of use. Some folks might like the look of a well-worn blued gun, with its holster wear, scratches and rust patches, but I don't...

@ bald1 - very nice grips.

Looking at these type of threads almost makes me feel guilty!!

I'll throw my little stainless steel piece in the mix!

I had quite a few at one time, now I'm down to just one, my Dan Wesson Model 715. I don't have any pretty pics of it though. :(
