'Square' 5 Gal. Buckets: Where To Get?

I dont think they're 5 gal. I think they're 3 gal. But any new construction with a flat roof. The screws they use to fasten the foam and membrane to the roof come in different size square buckets. Ive stopped and asked for a few on occasion. They usually dont have a problem giving them away.

"I'd like to know where you found buckets for $2.55 each..."

AGAIN, do an internet search for exactly what you want, "5 gallon square buckets...

Nothing to it!

Jeep, I'll have to call BS on $2.55 for a 5-gal square bottom bucket. There is another option that you might want to consider.

There is a brand of cat litter, sold at Target under their own brand of "Boots & Barkley". It comes in a non-scented clumping version, which is great, by the way, and it is sold in rectangular wide mouth 20-lb jugs. I use them to store shotgun hulls and brass and they work great for this purpose. Around here, the 20-lb jug of this litter costs $6.99, which is significantly less than the brands that come in those square bottom pails.

I know what you mean by those type of buckets Because I try to collect them myself. I get them from people that own cats and at garage sales.
Some people sell them at the sales & I've seen where some people got them stacked up in there garage waiting to get thrown away & I will make them an offer.

Good luck

NRA,
TimW sent me a copy (cut & paste) via PM, of two different 18ea. @ $2.55 per, didn't include a link or what store they came from...
Closeout or not, that's a deal I can afford!

4 gallon will be easier to lift/carry than 5 gal. and that means something when your back is full of metal pins, screws & brackets!

I'm NOT an internet wizzard, been searching but found no where close to that price...
The internet is a big place, I'm good with gears & wires, virtually helpless on the internet...
Anyone stumbles across this $2.55 deal again PLEASE post the link or store that is carrying them!

Ugh, sorry to hear that. Properly developed social skills and search engine efficiency don't always go together, it seems.

The reason I mentioned the jugs from Target is they're smaller, probably about 3 gallons, but they're rectangular, so they're just as space efficient as the square bottom pails. I found those big pails to be too heavy when loaded with brass, and my handling of them was clumsy, especially in a tight storage space. At one point, the plastic strap handle came off when I was carrying a full pail of brass. I ended up using the big ones for hulls, and Boots and Barkley jugs for brass. My cat generates a jug every 10 days, so I end up throwing most of them in the recycling bins. I guess that's a sign that I need more brass!

Here's my copy & pasted link, because "there's nothing to it", see?

"...kitty litter cheaper than I can buy/ship new buckets..." It's all about what you're buying. Cat litter is basically TP. A plastic bucket may or may not be a food grade thing. Lot of 'em are made to order for the manufacturers who use 'em too.
"...1 full time indoor cat is MORE than enough!..." Worse if it's female. They think you need constant close supervision just like human females. snicker.
$2.55 each is really cheap. U.S. Plastic Corp wants $15.19 each with a 5% discount if you buy 24 plus. And the friggin' lid is extra.

Umm. I collect maple sap. I get free buckets by going to the bakery counters at Walmart and grocery supermarkets. They have 4 and 5 gallon buckets that frosting comes in. Usually they are round, but I have gotten a few rectangular 3 and 5 gallon buckets with the lids. You even get to scrape the last of the frosting out of them. Haha!

Just call around and ask if they have any rectangular or square empty buckets.

Free!

"...kitty litter cheaper than I can buy/ship new buckets..."

FAR CHEAPER than kitty litter is "driveway dry" or similar...

Can pick it up at almost any auto parts store...

And, doing his own search, "JeepHammer" learned how to do his own search AND found the NEW $2.55 buckets I told him about...

Win-Win for him...

I'm at the mercy of Google or Bing...
They don't always direct you to the cheapest prices, not even with Amazon.

I took the $2.55 plus shipping which came to half as much again to the local farm store and the manager matched the price without shipping.
