Springfield's New .380 acp Pistol

Why does everyone mention the Sig and/or Kimber but nobody mentions the Colt Mustang, which was the first American derivative of the Star by decades?

For many years, Colt bought no advertising, so they were generally never mentioned in gunrags.
Even recently, I was reading a review of a new 1911 chambered in 10mm, and they didn't list the Delta Elite among guns available in that caliber.
How long has the polymer-framed Mustang been out? I don't think I've seen a picture of it in print.

I did not mention the Mustang because I do not have one. The OP's topic was Springfield Armory's 380. I do have a 45 1911 range officer. It it very accurate and has a reasonable trigger, 4 1/2 lbs IIRC. I also have a SIG P238 that came with a SIG laser and night sights. Not just night sights, but excellent sights. I wish I could pick & choose features from both.

Perhaps Aguila should start a discussion on the Mustang. I am sure if nothing else, Colt has a place in history. It does not look like a pistol I would choose over my SIG in any frame material.

I like that Springfield tried to do something to improve the safety, compared to the Colt/Kimber/SIG, but it still looks like the primary consideration in designing the safety is that it not get in the way of racking the slide with the safety engaged.
Having to rotate the safety well below horizontal to disengage is not optimal, but at least the Springfield lever is extended a bit, to better fall under the thumb.

I have a Springfield Xd mod 2 9mm and a Sig P938......My money says that the Springer is going to be a pretty good gun. Neither gun has ever missed a beat for me......chews through everything that I feed them.

I only recently acquired my P938 but have shot it a good bit in the short time that I've owned it. 500+/- trouble free rounds through it. It has moved to the top of my carry list. I'm left handed so the ambi safety is appealing to me too. The baby Springfield brings a lot of the same options to the table also......

I really don’t get the charm of a cocked and locked pocket pistol. I’ll take DA all day long. Ive picked up two Remington RM380’s. For me, it’s the ultimate pocket gun.

No qualms about cocked and locked, I carry a Wilson .45 every day. But, pocket carry? Eh.
