too many lemons? How many lemons?

FTE's have been linked to ammo with less than stellar specs, mainly winchester white box. People who don't use the cheap ammo haven't had the FTE problems that the 'cheap ammo' buyers have.

If you really want to be sure, HS2000's can have their extractor replaced with the new xd model from springfield- either as a send in or do it yourself item.

I don't use X-outs in golf or guns, so I haven't had any FTE issues.
 
Stirred, not shaken?

Two (2) XD-9s and one (1) XD-40 in my hands, three (3) other XD-9s in other hands. That enough lemonade for ya? It is for me. ;)

Mostly FTEs in the 9s, some FTFs w ammo that worked fine in my Glocks, BHPs and CZs and other range guns (Beretta, SIG, Ruger) BTW (Win, Fed, PMC, Magtech, Fiocchi); FTF in the 40 w Fed, Speer, Win ammo, so I will say it's more the guns were too finicky than the ammo too cheap. They were new XDs made after 12-01 too. I'm sure SA could fix em, but it woulda been better to send em out the door working? At least as well as the other guns w the same ammo in the same hands at the same time?

Hey, I think it's a great gun and will do very well, I'm just not having the multiple orgasms everybody else is with em (darn!). Do I like them better than the Glock? You bet! Do I trust em as much as a Glock? Not yet.

According to BATF and State Dept import documents they are a single action pistol; that is gonna be the biggest hurdle for them to overcome in the US LE market. Doesn't mean they can't be very successful; Ruger has few LE contracts, and they are good guns that sell well anyway.

They are good guns but I don't think they will get any big time police contracts.

I don't think any major departments are going to let their cops carry a single action auto without a manaul safety.

Trading 2 Glocks and 2 BHPs for 2 XD9s and 2XD40s w 4 extra mags for each and oodles of ammo.

If they work, great! If they don't, I'll get something else... again.
