Spotted a Mod. 36 on the Sheriffs hip!

In this day and age of ours, I simply cannot think of a single benefit there would be to carrying a revolver vs. a semi-auto.

I can think of two very good reasons. The two times, as a working street cop, that I had a real need for a weapon my M-19 worked just fine.

As I was grandfathered in, I declined to carry an bottom feeder when my department first issued them.

Now retired many years, I don't always go armed. When I do, it's with one of several S&W revolvers.

Oh lordy... As an officer, no - it's probably not too smart to carry a 5 shot snub in this day & age. For a civilian, it's more than acceptable. Heck, I'm switching to an 8 shooter wheelie as one of my sometime-carry piece. The older I get, the more I realize that there are significant advantages a revolver has over a semi for CCW.
