I'm in Austin, TX, and have a 33.6 modem. My *best* so far is 20.6kbps, 2.5Kbytes/sec. I've sensed that things are slowing down the past few months, this confirms it. I'm currently using Mindspring internet, but won't be for long!!

Notice it is the BIG KB not the little kb. You have the option to switch to kb reporting though. I was averageing 5,500-6,500kbps when I had it set to kb reporting.

Some of you guys have A LOT of patience! I couldn't handle some of the connections ya'all have or lack there of. Cable modem service runs $25 a mont here. With a hub and some cat5 lines, you can network two puters.
Hey, Son ... did you buy the modem? Here they charge 29.95 and 15 for the modem rent. I figured as soon as I sprung for the $360 bucks, they'd have a version change, right? Or lightening.
