In order to protect our members and TFL from possible litigation, all members must abide by the following new rules:

    1. Copying and pasting entire articles from another site to TFL is strictly prohibited. The same applies to articles from print or other media, and to posting photographs taken of copyrighted pages or other media.

    2. Copyright law provides for “fair use” of portions of a copyrighted work. You can copy no more than a SINGLE paragraph from the article to your post (3 or 4 sentences at most).

    3. You must provide a link to the article along with the name of website. For example: ww.xxx.yyy/zzz (The Lower Thumbsuck Daily News).

    4. You must provide, in your own words, a brief summary of the article AND your reasons for believing it will be of interest to TFL members. Failure to do so may result in the thread being closed or your post being deleted as a “cut and paste drive by.”

    5. Photographs and other images are also copyrighted. "Hotlinking" of images (so that it appears in your message) from other sites is also prohibited unless you own rights to the image. If you wish to share an image, provide a clickable link to it.

Posts that do not follow these new guidelines will be altered or deleted by staff. Members who continue to violate this policy may lose their posting privileges at TFL.

Thank you for your cooperation and your participation in TFL, the leading online forum for firearms enthusiasts.

specialty handguns forum anyone???

Dave,
Please look in the g. handguns you will see several post from me and others one of my post has 2 pages at this time

If the moderateers care to they can feel free to contact me at handgunhunting@aol.com so we can go over this with out botherring everyone on tfl

We could do this with virtually everything we have here: Scout rifles, lever rifles, single-action revolvers, revolvers in rifle calibers, double rifles, c'mon- where do you stop?

I can post appropriate commentary about my martial arts, scout rifles, and single-actions revolvers- as well as everything else that is appropriate on a forum of this nature- in extant categories. I'm fairly certain you can, too.

HGH-
No, I wasn't asking you to leave the Board. I was trying to get you to realize that creating another Forum may seem like a stroke of the keyboard to you. To us it means management, manpower and time.

That's why I encouraged you to take responsibility for your request, by starting just such a Forum. I've offered you print and press to do so. TFL provides a Public Service....but we're not staffed, paid or budgeted to be a Public Service Agency.

As for your point that one of your posts in Gen Handguns has resulted in two pages of responses....ummmmm. That thread is entitled "Who hunts with handguns?". Try a post like, "Who's fired the Glock 26"....you'll get even more responses....would that indicate to you that a Glock 26 Forum is in order?

I am going to let this drop because I can see no matter what I say or show to you (TFL). It won't make difference. I am dropping this not because I no longer feel it is a good idea, but because is has been pointed out that it is your board and you will run it the way you see fit.
This is just a loosing battle for me (and the others that liked the idea).
FYI I do manage a small message board.
I don't mean to sound nasty I just feel that this would have improved upon an already great thing.
