SP101 grips??

Pachmayr Diamond Pro - Available "Early 2015". I hate to tell them - early 2015 is long gone. We're halfway through the year now.

Does look nice though.

Real Gun, I see what you are talking about now. I saw a pic of the Pachmayr grip on an SP101 and held mine up next to it. It "lowers" that gap so that your middle finger is probably 1/4" lower than it would have been.

The Hogue grips showed up the other day.
I put them on and shot a 150 rounds through her.

I should have just ordered these right away. They are just the right size.

Why Rubber on a gun that may be carried concealed?
Nylon doesn't stick to your clothing and the shape of the Hogue grip on a 101 helps reduce the "felt recoil".

Just the opposite. The stock grip doesn't allow for a pinky rest. That tends to make you push your grip high into the arch between the grip and the guard. That, in turn, makes the guard rest hard against your middle finger. The end result is that shooting it with other than mild loads tends to not be a pleasant experience.

I'm patiently waiting on my Hogue grip right now.

I am talking about the shape of the Hogue grip for the 101.

Ok, I thought your were talking about the stock grip (I see you've edited it now to make it clearer what you meant). I certainly hope you are correct. Those stock grips certainly don't do the job.

I agree, they are too short for my hand too. Sorry I wasn't clear the 1st time. I used to buy Hogue grips back when everyone just seem to carry Pachmayer's. Funny how things change. Back then all you could get was Nylon, certain guns even had a white option.

Back then all you could get was Nylon,

Which I think is the best for carry with my smallish hands. At least the current nylon Hogues feel slimmer than the same shape in wood. I have both, so I'm sayin'. I think we know that rubber and light shirts have too strong an attraction, relieved by the nylon material. Recoil control is achieved by proper fit of the grip.

Hogue grips look large for concealed carry. I don't have a problem with .357s with factory grips. I think I would like to try the pachmayr compac for conceal carry. I have tried Hogue on an old Ruger service six and they didn't fit. But, nothing else seems to fit that gun either.
