Sorry in advance, need to vent

So, today I am sitting at home and the phone rings, I am in the other room, but my wife who is in the same room as the phone asks me to answer anyway.

it was the gun shop where I ordered my XD45C, they were letting me know that it had come in. I told them thank you and that I would be picking it up later, and keeping it on layaway.

I hang up the phone and my wife asks who called, and I told her what the call was about. she says "you better not go get it, or Santa won't have anything to give you."

Now, well, let's just say, I'm stuck waiting for Christmas, for her to pay off the rest of the gun. I know I should be patient, and be happy that my wife is paying for the rest, but you know, sometimes it's a long 18 days till Christmas...

Oh, I did tell her that if she would have picked up the phone she could have avoided all of this:)

Once again Sorry for the rant, and thank you for putting up with it.
 
wow what a bad day for you, I wish I could say I feel your pain but I've never had a day as bad as yours.

hopefully tomorrow will be better.
 
They just called again

like 2 minutes ago, apparently, one of the guys at the shop didn't know the other guy had called, so they called me again!!!! now, I don't usually do this, but I have been stomping around the house for the last hour!!!:eek:

my wife is both being driven crazy and finding my stomping around cute, it's gonna be heck for the next 2 weeks
 
Your wife is actually spending her money on a gun for you? You don't know how lucky you are. My wife moans and whines any time she thinks I may have bought a gun so I leave her out of the loop. Meantime I'm acquiring useful items that don't depreciate in value. Kind of like having a recession proof bank account.
 
I know I'm lucky, It's just hard to know that the poor gun is just sitting on a shelf when I could be lovingly sending 230grn fmj through it:)

Not to rain on your Christmas parade, but if you ordered the gun and she is going to pay for it, I hope the gun shop understands the law. It's ok for her to buy the gun as a gift, but some clerks can't seem to understand that.
 
A gun for Christmas? You'll shoot yourself in the eye!!

(I'm looking forward to watching that again - our yearly tradition.)

I don't understand what the problem is. Your wife is spending her money to finish buying you a gun??? This means you can buy plenty of ammo with your money!!!
 
Spend the next two weeks figuring out what accessories (Holster, springs, sights, etc) your new toy will need. Wives understand the need to accessorize. (God help us, do they understand.)
 
Mal H, she knows. it's more of us going to the store together and her paying the last and me taking possession, I'll be there in person with MN purchase permit, so it shouldn't be an issue.

sserdlihc: I know, I'm just a little impatient, as I saved for a few months to put the money down for it.

dude your getting an XD! grats. kiss the wife, and quit stomping around. 2 weeks isn't anything
 
Not to rub salt in....my XD45c shoots real nice....LOL I personally deferred any xmas presents for the Garand I will get after the 1st of the year.

it could be worse

At least it sounds like she's ok with your new Christmas present.
It could be worse:
Last Christmas (or rather about a week before it) I came home with a new M1A.
Needless to say, my wife and I didn't really speak until well after new years.
I made the mistake of calling her from the gun shop to tell her what I was thinking of doing; her reply was "I know you'll make the right decision".
I think I did make the right decision (it was a used M1a, at a price I couldn't pass up), but it apparently wasn't the decision she had in mind when she said that.
I would love to have a new toy like that under the tree this year, but there's no way my wife is ever paying for something like that for me.

Anyway, I hope you have fun with your new toy.

Can't talk her into the need for QA/QC, in regards to ammo preferences???
Could also indicate that she get first BOX of ammo thru it?
