Only two issues that I have had with 1911 based guns.
One gun had a barrel bushing that was slightly oversized. (Dis)assembly is a bear.
Magazines. I have had two defective Chip McCormick magazines. One will occasionally misfeed. I have gotten better and faster at eject-rack-tap-rack as a result. The other defective magazine looks fine, but won't eject properly. When pulling it out, it sounds like its about to pull out the insides of my Kimber with it. Needless to say, I only used it once.
