Somebody Stop Me! HK USP Compact 45!

That's great Runt, you and ArmySon (and hopefully me, if and when I get my CCW) prove that you can still be a little maggot and carry a big-@$$ gun!!

WHOA!

Runt of the Litter,

Thank you for posting pictures. I originally thought that the band would be worn around the torso instead of the waist. As if you were wearing it in the same manner if it was held by a shoulder holster.

I had to yell for the wife to come down to see the pictures. She is forever answering the question, "well, am I printing? No? Maybe?" She knows my pain. Her first reaction too was "whoa!" But the "whoa" wasn't for the incredible concealment that band gives. I then had to give a 5 minute background speech about TFL, your epic workplace saga, your husband's great work (she HAS seen his web site before and remember it when I mentioned his work.) Her response was, "wow, you should get that on the next paycheck."

So, I am ordering that band on my next paycheck. :D Would you mind telling me where you were able to purchase it? (hopefully an online merchant!)

Thanks again,
Killians97

your husband's great work

:D Not there, yet!...... Mrs. Volk? :D

I think most people do wear the belly band higher up - I just don't; it's easier to draw from and more comfortable lower down on me. I consider the belly band easy for me to wear because of my convenient bell shape; my brother says it's uncomfortable on him. My CCW instructor does wear a belly band, higher up and outside his clothes but under his jacket - which looks odd because you can see this funny looking elastic band!

I bought my band from a local dealer at a gunshow, but there are online sites. Can't tell you where offhand, but a quick search should lead you there!

Ooops

Well, looks like I need to go back and re-read all of the posts. I dont know where I made that connection. Sorry for the confusion!

It is an interesting gun.

It feeds ammo which chokes Glock 30 and Glock 21. Less felt recoil than .45 Glock. Less accurate but not by much. The safety, though it looks exposed, doesn't move by itself.

Oleg, you're not helping me. Haven't you heard about throwing temptation into peoples way? Now I want a USP really bad, I just sorta wanted one before but you really took the taco. If they just got rid of that silly Full-Cap mag ban I'd run to get one.

What ammo will choke a 45 Glock, and what would the accuracy difference between them and a USP be?

Standard magazine on a 45 Compact is 8 rounds, so no problem there.

Accuracy: I can shoot a group under 1" with G30 at 7 yards with no effort. It took some effort to get a sub 2" group with the USP45c. I'll grant that I am not yet used to the gun and the sights were not regulated for me, but I found it surprisingly hard to shoot accurately compared to a G30, even in single action. Double action on a USP is gritty and hard and long, but I don't think it would get much use, as cocked and locked carry is possible. However, the USP is likely capable of better accuracy than my initial results would suggest. The full-size USP was certainly much more accurate than any of my Glocks.

Pretty much any +P ammo will choke my G30 (3d gen) and G21 (1 gen, rebuilt recently). 185gr will dive in the magazine, 230 would lock the slide on recoil. Any +P was also unpleasant to shoot. USP is much a softer shooter.
