Some people shouldn't be allowed to get out of bed some days

My local club has been pushing me to get competition shooting. We have a nice outdoor range, nice indoor range but not many people using either.

OK I have my CMP GSM Clinics and Matches, some High Power Clinics and Matches, other guys run the Light Rifle indoors in the winter so they want me to conduct bowling pin shoots.

So this summer I started. Turn out is not heavy but its getting better. Pin shoots the fourth Saturday of the Month.

So I get up, load all my stuff get to the range early to have every thing set up for the 9 AM start.

Set there until 9 AM all by my self until 9;30, then tear down the range, pack all the stuff back to the club house and go home, quite mad.

I walk in the house being all grumpy and wife tells me I'd probably have a better turn out on Saturday, being today is Friday.

I'm going back to bed.

Don't feel too bad about it. I recently drove about 50 miles so a friend could do some work on my truck. The only problem was I drove my car there.

With 2 children in the house. When I get home I seperate the bolt from the rifle. I will not say how many but enough times I have found myself out on range with no bolts for the rifles. Locked up in safe at home in seperate room.
Only thing is with age--In a Month you forgot how silly you are ha ha:D

It's not the age. When I was 18, I dressed up in my Auto Clinic uniform one Saturday, and drove to the Auto Clinic. I sat in the car about ten minutes wondering why everyone was late but me. I noticed a lot people trailer inch boats, and it dawned on me it was Saturday, and I was late for my other job. Got home and my wife asked why I was wearing that uniform. She saw a lot more humor in the situation than I did.

I went to junior high school/middle school once when it was closed -- maybe Spring recess or something. Drove to college classes once too I think on a holiday. My family was never good at watching the calendar.

Mom dropped me off at a city day care center at a public housing project one morning for the day and it was closed, of course, because it was a national holiday. It was OK though -- she showed up right on time at the end of the day and I was still alive and still there, waiting. If she had a job or something I mighta been worried she'd be late!

Couple of weeks ago, . . . I had an IWB holster to make for a left handed customer, . . . and a right handed OWB for another customer.

I was fuming when I picked up the right hand and saw I had cut it backwards out of the prettiest piece of leather I had.

Soooooo, . . . I laid it aside and started on the other one, . . . got it half way sewn, . . . sanded, edged, etc, . . . saw some flecks of junk on the leather.

Took a moment to try to figure out what was happening, . . . after 2 hours of work, . . . found out it was cut wrong too.

I ended it all with a piece of strawberry-rhubarb cobbler and a cup of coffee, . . . tomorrow would be a better day.

Sometimes it happens that way.

May God bless,
Dwight

Why not leave everything set up for Saturday? At our range we generally set up the day before for a match.

Not that you didn't earn every bit of it, but I have a hard time feeling sorry for retired guys who have to work hard to remember what day of the week it is. ;) My retired uncle gives me grief about it all the time. :)

I've gone home from work and taken a nap only to wake up at 7;00 feeling like i barely slept, frantically trying to dress since I was supposed to work at 7... Only to burst into the living room with everyone doing 7pm stuff lol. Some times during the year 7pm light is similar to 7am light.

Weird

I did that stuff when I was in college. Show up an hour early after forgetting about daylight savings............. If it where not for my wife..... Age 51 would be real embarrassing.

ive done it too, got up took a shower got halfway to work realized the traffic is different and yup it was saturday morning. im not that old- it happens sooner or later to everyone.

I've gone to work on a holiday. I usually get in substantialy before everyone else, and about midmorning I suddenly realize whats going on.

Surprisingly I was already quite happy as I had an "unexpected" day off.

Went to teach class on the wrong day - walked in to the podium and the other teacher wanted to get a butterfly net to catch me.

Didn't go to class - and got a call from security - where are you!

Haha - my contract said class started the next day. The chair had his first class that day and told the rest of us that's when the joint started up.
