Some fun things to shoot.

I work on PC's for a living, which means that I have a LOT of old computer equipment laying about. I think the most fun was an old XT. It was built like a tank, but those 12ga slugs made such nice holes in the case! :D

Paper plates. They're especially fun to shoot if you're preparing for a competition because they're approximately the same diameter as steel plates. And speaking of steel . . . STEEL! Paint a scrap piece and shoot from twenty-five yards away. Not only will you hear a gratifying PING! when you hit it, but you should see a splattered-out portion of paint removed by the bullet.

This is very fun and pretty dangerous.Just dont try it on dry grass.Get a standard road flare, light it,set a full can of starting fluid beside it,get at least 30 feet, and shoot the starting fluid.Get ready for a 10 foot by 10 foot explosion. Please use great care if you decide to do this.

These dumb kids that drive up and down the road with that damn rap crap waking me up at 2 in the morning. They make good moving targets.

Speaking of metal targets, there are swinging metal targets available at Brownell's or others which can take up to a .45 (LRN only). They last forever and have a 4-5" target on the bottom and a 2-3" target on top. Also available for .22's.

Also, Birchwood Casey Shoot-n-See targets make it easy to see where you're hitting. They turn bright green where struck.

Try shooting an old baseball. It rolls around, and isn't too hard to hit with a .22 rifle or pistol. Lasts forever, too. I found this works even better if the ball is waterlogged.
