Soldier of Fortune

Too many guys willing to work and too few opportunities. It's gone corporate. The main employer in Africa is some firm out of S.A., I forget their name. In Latin America it's Israeli companies that run the business. I've heard there's lots of work in Mexico thanks to the drug runners and kidnapers.

I think Sandline Intl. as well out of the UK. EO was looking for vets, preferably with Africa experience, as most of their employees were former SA spec ops guys. What I find funny is that they now fight against the folks they fought with back in the 70s and early 80s (in Angola). And when they left Sierra Leone, the country went back to hades in a handbasket. The pay is not that good.

Just wanted to clarify, there's work in Mexico to protect people from drug runners and kidnappers. Didn't mean to sound like I was advocating working for the lowlifes involved in the drug trade.

There's also quite a lot of work down in Colombia, as a security consultant. I just came home from there, been working for a few oilcompanies the past year. The pay is good, but the work is pretty dangerous. (For a company contract, that is) A word of warning if you go down there: Pick a rifle you know can handle mud & other kinds of dirt very well. We had a few H&K G36K's with us, and, well... we lost a few guys due to the weapon jamming in critical situations. My G3 worked well the entire tour though, and the AK's we salvaged worked well.
