Some guy just unloaded over 500 guns at the gun shop to pay for his divorce. Only problem is, he had every single one engraved with his name. I'm sure he could name a few :) .

p.s., anyone here named Alejandro ?

Muscles, My name isn't Alejandro, but if there are some good deals there, I would just tell people that that was my guns name. :)

Have only sold one gun ever, Remington Nylon 66 and it was a piece of junk, so I don't feel any guilt, but man, this thread has convinced me to never sell a gun again ever. (unless it sucks as bad as that 66)

I'm ok, I'm ok, I'm ok

Sorry, I always have to comfort and reasure myself when reading and thinking about this topic. It pains me to think about, but I too have traded guns. The one that stands out was my first. A beretta 92fs with trijicons and high caps. It wasn't fancy, But, I shot three qualification courses with it, and never shot below perfection. That's right 300 out of 300, well, I thought I'd feel better if I wrote about it. I was wrong.

Thanks

P.S. Ala Dan-I love your posts. You are very knowledgeable, and I respect your opinion.

I had a matched pair of Nickel pin-barrelled S&Ws, a Mod 29 in 44 Magnum and a Mod 57 in 41 Mag. They were like new in the wooden chests! Thought they'd keep making em like that forever...

Funny what we'll do for money, isn't it. Or thinking there's something new we need more than what we have. I sold a beautiful Series 70 Gov't with Swenson safety and a little tuning, to buy a Ruger Speed Six .357 revolver. What a BONEHEAD! I was younger and dumber. Still dumb at times. I sold my beloved '88 BMW R100rs twin motorcycle, to buy the new R1100. I told the guy I sold it to "If you ever decide to sell it, call me first." I bumped into him a year later, and he'd sold the bike 6 mos after buying it. SOB. I'll never NOT miss that trusty steed.

Gunslinger: SWEAR an oath, right here in front of all your TFL friends: DO NOT GET MARRIED AGAIN! No gun collection is worth the risk, in your case. ;)

I know that there are many who might read this thread, and be totally baffled by our sentiment and despair. To hell with them... they're IDIOTS! :)

Covert Mission: Guns are like motorcycles. You do not build a collection of either, by selling or trading one in on another. I have a collection of 12 pristine motorcycles and I will not trade one off. I may buy another one, but trade, Never. Its like puting one of your children up for adoption, completely unthinkable. Oh and by the way 60's Brit bikes rule... :)...7th Fleet

I had a nifty Beretta 21A .22. Nickel. Shot about 500 rounds, never jammed. Easy to slip in your pocket. Rack the slide, or use the tip-up barrell. Of course I sold it, used the proceeds for another gun.

7th:

You hit me where it hurts. I'm selling the Beemer to raise cash for the purchase of a house (it's ok... i like it but don't love it...i want my R100 back...wahhhhh). I've not been ridng a lot since my daughter was born. I thought I'd take a break, and let her get to know me before getting creamed by a semi (been run over once already).

I have a totally restored Norton '71 750 Commando... beyond beautiful. Am wrestling with myself whether to sell. I'm not a great BritBike wrench, and we're moving to Montana. Not sure who'll service/fix it there. So, I might look for another vintage Beemer instead, or (ugh!) an enduro bike. Have to fix an oil flow problem with the Norton. Keep your iron steeds.

Btw, I have a RICH friend who has assembled probably the best collection of vintage American motorcycles in the US, in the last few years. He has euros too. And cars (Deusenbergs, Porsche racers, Ferarris etc). All in his own museum. It's amazing the fun you can have when you're worth $500 million +.

To CX2; Thanks for the kind words concerning
my post on gun related subject's. Guns (and
handguns in particular) are the love of my
life. They are kind'a like women; no two
are alike. I also like sharing my experience's with other fine member's
here on TFL. We have a great bunch of
contributor's here!!!! :D

Best Wishes To All,

Sold a German made Sig-Sauer P228, whose grip panels irritated my shooting hand, but which I shot better with than my P226, to get an Italian made Beretta 92fs. Never got the 92fs, still have the P226. Now I can't get a NIB Italian made 92fs. Bummer....

So many lost guns, so much stupidity!

My first was a S&W 645. I still miss that gun and wish I had that single stack S.O.B. back.

I regret selling every one I ever have - some more than others.

Sold an old SW M29 with an "S" prefix on serial number. I'm not a collector per se but a buddy (who supposedly's in the know) said the S prefix was an oldie & goody - collector type.

Got a whole $250 for it with all the dies, molds, bullets, primers, brass, holster - get the picture? ouch!

Needed the cash to file for a divorce & got custody of my kids outa the deal so not too shabby. Still ....

Ok, here's mine. I had a NIB Browning BDA
in .45acp. This is the model that became
the Sig220. Also a S&W M27 6" with the stippled top strap. Egads what a boner.
