So who wants to sue the federal government?

At least we CAN openly discuss this

The GREAT THING about this country is that you don't see tanks in the street during elections, and we can have a discussion like this without black Helios and cars waiting outside our homes and businesses, or getting the telephone book / electro shock based questioning. I've lived in a couple of other countries, one where oppositional talk did result in long term disappearances, it's a very different feeling.

The head of their national police force was proud in telling me about their "Miranda" rights, something like this:

You have the right to try to remain silent during your interrogation.

If you give up the right to remain silent, and you will, you are allowed to scream, we are allowed to try and shut you up.

Anything you say, and you will say what we tell you, will be used in court against you.

You have the right to have your attorney claim your body.

If you cannot afford one we will act as your attorney.

He ended the discussion with ".....and I can get a confession out of anyone."

FYI this is a country 'With Most Favored Nation' status, and one that the US has kept the current regime in power when threatened by overpowering neighbors and world opinion.

For all of its faults, there is a reason large numbers of foreigners want to move to the US.
