Introduce a ban in SC? Well, I guess the first thing I would do is see if I could get chemical testing of all my food and drink done, 'cause if I saw that headline tomorrow, here, I'd be convinced I was hallucinating.
Then again, SC was one of the first states to have a one handgun per month restriction, and a 700 degree melting point test for "Saturday Night Specials." As far as the last one goes, that was kinda cute how they wrote in an exception for polymer frame guns after SLED (State Law Enforcement Division) decided they wanted Glock 22s as their primary. After all, how would it look for the state's premier LEO agency to be armed with SNS's? (Also interesting to note that SLED was the very first official agency in the world to adopt the .40 Liberty caliber.)
We keep a pretty good eagle eye on our Leg. here as far as gun laws go. In fact, in the past few weeks, we've managed to get some pro-gun stuff passed. We've elminated some restrictions on CCP's, and have gotten some range protection legislation enacted.
Our shall issue CCW law has some overly burdensome restrictions which were necessary to please the small but vocal anti faction in order to get it passed at all, but now that it's been around for a few years, we're taking them out, a piece at a time.
