So many rifles I'd love to own :(

So...I have so many rifles I want to go buy right now!!! I try to limit myself to no more then 4 a year....How many firearms do you own and how do you limit what you buy and dont buy?! I really enjoy just plinking and hunting on the side so any firearm really suits me.

I hear that! I'm looking at about 2 firearms per year, if I'm careful with my budget and don't blow too much on one of my other hobbies.
At 2x per year, that would be.... maybe 10 years to get where I want to be. Minimum.

hahah i like that quote! Turning 19 this June but love collecting firearms already! Working a gooooood job that allows me to have quite a bit of spending money but I have to work far away from home..Probably going to go spending crazy when i get home! New items for the list: New gun safe, AK47, SKS, Mosin, and then later in the year another AR15 ;P Got the AR fever in me

I own a total of 3 rifles. Remington 700 5R, Sako 85 hunter, and a 14.5 BCM mid. I'm in college though so i'm limited to how much i can save and making money in the summer. So far i've limited myself to 1 a year maybe even a half of one lol. If i was grown and had a full time job it would be about 2-3 a year. About to have a SPR upper come in. And was looking at 6.5 grendel ballistics a minute ago  also my next full blown custom in 2-4 years will be in 6.5Lr which is another rifle in the works..

What limits how many I buy per year? Fuel prices, fertilizer prices, grain prices, cattle prices, "ah **** that needs replaced too?" prices, & the mother of them all: rainfall.

Well If I have extra cash after bills I buy what I want. This past year I've bought 5 or 6 guns. I have to wait till I turn 21 to buy the 3 other guns I want, then I probably wont buy any more for a long time after that unless I trade some in to get a different one.

I own 21 firearms, plus an old lee enfield barreled action I will get around to turning into a rifle one day. It became a lot cheaper and easier to purchase firearms once I got myself a C&R FFL, that allowed me to add a bunch of surplus guns to my collection for a pretty low price. I highly recommend it!

I bought 117 assorted surplus mausers once in the mid 60's. Since then, I have converted most of them. Some were just too nice to change and some were only good for parts. I still have most of them along with a few other military surplus and a few commercial rifles. Its a shame that I dont like firearms.

I don't own any guns/firearms....I just buy them to sell them:D

But, if I were to keep any of the ones I buy, then it would be 2-4 per year with no maximum on the # I could own.

I work weekends at the gun show for a local dealer. I try to limit myself to 3 or 4 a month.:D
Buy something, if I like it, it stays, if not it becomes trading fodder for the next round.

Already bought 2 guns this year. A S&W 9mm and a coach gun. I love that coach gun. 12ga, double triggers, double hammers. Looking to buy an Springfield 1911A1 .45 mil spec and an AR-10 or 15. Can't decide and I'll have to do some research.

I've been a shooter and hunter for 45 years and most of the time I've only had one rifle, one shotgun and sometimes (on and off) a handgun. That was until this year when I've actually worked my way up to TWO rifles and a shotgun (no current handgun). I did alot of re-loading in those years (no longer) so that (equipment) was an expense.

Just never felt the need to have numerous guns. Having just a couple you shoot those alot and get to where they are almost a "part" of you. I'm a pretty good shot.

Forgot to mention that I shot competitive archery those years (no longer) and won two state championships, a five-state championship, 17th place at the week long national tournament and turned pro and shot for Bear Archery for a year. One year (indoor shooting at 20 yards) shot 43 perfect 300's (60 arrows at 3" bull which counts 5 points) with 50+ of the 60 shots in the 1-1/2" "x" ring. (Best was 57 x's twice). I know how to aim and squeeze the trigger (or release), LOL.

I re-read my last post and it sounds like I'm bragging. In any case I'll add why I quit shooting archery. About 10 or more years ago I shot in an indoor league and was averaging 55 x's per game and had a 299.6 scoring average (with target equipment and a release aide). My teammate had the same averages.... and he was shooting fingers. Then this 18 year old kid from Chicago comes to our tournament shooting 60x 300's EVERY TIME and that was it for me. What used to be the best scores there was in the 70's and 80's were now very ordinary. There are some amazing shooters out there now....

I did have some neat things happen when doing that like knowing some of the best archers that ever lived. When shooting for Bear Archery I had the honor of talking one on one for an hour with Fred Bear (no one else around). That was cool. Fred was really tall (over six feet) and always had a mixed drink in his hand. I also got to go to the Bear rep's ranch in Wisconsin and look at all of Fred Bear's mounts. He took some awesome deer and most came from Nebraska.

Sorry to steal the thread. Back to the subject now.

haha no problem warbird...always time for a good story or two :P Speaking of fred bear..Ted Nugents drummer lives in my town :D okay NOW back on topic

"...Turning 19 this June..." I have underwear older than that, but you're standing on your hind legs and are looking after yourself. Congratulations. Not many 18 year olds do that. Decidedly refreshing to hear from a guy your age who does.
You going to tell us what you're doing?
"...have to work far away from home..." Where you are becomes home, but you have to make it your home. Joining a local shooting club helps a whole lot. Opens all kinds of doors that may not be open at 'home'.
