Smith & Wesson is doing something strange. It's a Model 60 with a 5 1/2 inch barrel.

P.Plainsman - Yep 4in would have seemed logical. And, as far as Australia goes there are now barrel length limits for most civilian shooters (not under 4in at present). It is of course a totally ridiculous and arbitrary size limit which only goes to show how little the regulating authorities know. We also now have a limit on magazine capacity, 10 rounds only. No more Hi-caps, again this is plain bloody silly. How fast can you switch magazines?
The real problem for the regulating authorities is that by promoting plainly foolish laws to address an imagined liberal sentiment they are alienating shooters. An alienated citizen is one who may be likely to ignore the rules entirely - that could never happen could it?

If you replaced the front sight, and put on a decent size set of grips, would that make it suitable for centrefire match?

I have only been shooting rimfire, and am looking for something for issf centrefire. The lower weight and not chasing brass all over the paddock sound attractive, if the revolver is up to the job.
