Smith and Wesson 625 JM

I considered the 625JM, but got a Thunder Ranch 22, instead.

I've been using blued steel clips from Cylinder & Slide, and no complaints. I made a de-mooner from a piece of 1/2" copper tubing, that works just like the commercial style. http://www.brownells.com/shooting-a...-accessories/moon-clip-stripper-prod6727.aspx

My first holster was a Don Hume, it worked alright, but it would collapse when the gun was removed, requiring two hands to reholster. I replaced it with a Safariland 568, which is a suede-lined "plastic" holster that looks more traditional and less industrial than kydex. It comes with two methods of attachment, both loops and paddle.

I suspect that the JM model comes with something of an action job as part of the package? I sent my gun to Springfield for the Master Action Job, and was very underwhelmed. The action seems no lighter or smoother than it did when the gun was stock with the strain screw backed-out a quarter turn, and it still won't crack handloads that aren't loaded with Federal primers.

Handle from a golf clubs works great cut down right above the grip. I'll have to take a photo and post it

I have a 5" .45 ACP 625-3, not a JM model, but I'm very pleased with it. Accurate enough for amateur level Bullseye, but also pretty good for ICORE with the moon clips. A great all-around revolver.

I'd buy one if they got rid of those horrible grips and that serrated trigger
Have you ever fired a gun with the Jerry Miculek's Grips?
I have a set on a 21 Thunder ranch and I will agree that when I first put them on they felt really strange
After having them on now for over two years I see how they work. It places your hand on the grip more on the side then on the back of the grip. The grip is made for two handed fast action and for that it works very well. It also places the trigger finger closer to the trigger and it does a very good job making the pull straight back if your fingers aren’t long. They are not for target shooting.
It also places your finger deeper on the trigger which gives your finger more power when shooting double action and this makes it faster.
The other advantage is that they are thin making the gun easier to conceal and yes I have carried N frame S&W a lot.
They are not for everyone but if they fit your shooting style they are a wonderful grip.
Jerry did 6 rounds a reload then 6 more on target with the same gun you have in under 3 seconds so they can’t be all bad.
