smith and wesson 442

I took mine out for a quick check at the range yesterday. I did about twenty rounds of Blazer aluminum case, 125 JHP, P+. Let me tell you that stuff has some bark to it. I don't know how hot it is, but I knew it had gone off that's for sure. Between the BOOM, the muzzle-flash, and the recoil, it got attention all up and down the line. Shot good though.

My 125 gr JFP's reloads were much milder by comparison and a lot of fun to shoot, even in the little airweight.

A couple of weeks ago my wife got a 642. She liked the gun, but said the wooden grips hurt her hand so I got her a set of Hogues for it. The next time she goes to the range, I'm going to try them to see how they feel.

The little 642 can be a frisky fellow. I can definitely feel the difference between 38 spl and the +p stuff.

I didn't care much for IWB carry with it. It now resides in a Bianchi OWB holster hanging off my Galco belt. That setup is comfy enough to wear all day and almost forget I have it on.

BTW, I'm 6'0" and 230 lbs.
