SmartCarry

I wear SmartCarry with a Kimber Compact .45 (4" barrel). Works great.

Points:
SmartCarry is not ThunderWear, it is superior.
Gun never points at privates except during draw. Barrel rests below that point.
I wear pleated dress slacks. Pleats make printing go away.
Draw is slow, concealment factor is very high
Can be worn in any weather, cold to hot, heavy pants to light shorts
As always, YMMV. Works for me, might not for you.

My only problem is the safety gets flicked off wearing this way, either while bending to sit, or when standing up, not sure which causes it. I'm going to put a shield there to prevent this, but haven't done so yet. For now, there isn't one in the pipe because of this. Draw is much slower when racking the slide is a required step. :(

As someone else said, the nice thing about the Smart Carry is that you can position it where it's comfortable for you.

I'm female so I wear mine positioned pretty much as an IWB holster, not down low the way most guys do. I like being able to shift it around a bit to a comfortable position (before I leave home, once I'm out of the house I leave it alone). I carry a Glock 26 in mine.

I know one guy who uses a Smart Carry all the time. He wears pleated dress or khaki slacks and it is absolutely not noticeable; he finds it very comfortable.

You really won't know if it will work for you unless you try it, though.

Yes, try it out for yourself for a few days with different weapons and adjust accordingly. I carry a Colt Commander on the rare occasion I use mine. It's has never been a problem especially in khaki or dress slacks. Jeans show a bit of a bulge, but I'm not telling what it is and no one would think "gun" from the position and the outline.

LWS .380. Safe to say that this block of stainless steel and piece of art/handgun is the finest concealed carry pistol made IMHO.

SmartCarry is based in Largo, FL, not a bad trip to make this time of year.
Clearwater Beach, Sand Key etc. Worth the trip just to have a Grouper Ruben at Frenchy's Rockaway on North Clearwater Beach.

I've never used a Smart Carry but have been thinking about it. Right now I use a Desantis waistband holster. My 9mm S&W M&Pc is in front below my belt with my shirt tucked behind it. I also carry a Kel-Tec PF-9 with a CAT Laser in the handcuff pouch. Works great and the waistband helps support my back... :)

SmartCarry is a good company. I tried their product with a S&W M&Pc 9mm, which I didnt like. I have too much low abdomen fat and it pushed the gun against the jeans too much and printed. If you are fit or just have a belly, youll probably be fine, but if you are real cushion-ey you may have problems like I did.

I sent mine back after trying to get used to it and trying to get it not to print. No luck. Returning it was very easy and painless.

I love my SmartCarry! I agree, it is better for smaller pistols, even though Charlie, the owner, swears he can carry a full-sized 1911 in his. I carry a Kahr P9 covert in mine. I have a fairly thin build, and have carried wearing semi-tight jeans without a problem. But my gun is fairly small, and yes, the grip does print a bit. But, as other people have mentioned, no one usually stares at your crotch. In baggier pants, there is zero printing. After a couple of days of wearing it and getting used to it, I don't find it uncomfortable at all to wear, even while sitting. I've also worn it while riding a motorcycle all day. Also, using the restroom isn't a problem. You just sort of lift the whole thing up and do your business. And I've never worried about the extra second or so it takes to draw. It's deep concealment, and unless someone grabs you down there, no one will ever know you're carrying.

I too carry a PT-111. I also considered a smartcarry, but ultimately decided I'd rather have the butt of the gun above the waistband so I could reach it easier. I wear jeans/shorts and a tshirt almost exclusively. I have a comptac pro undercover IWB holster (Kydex). I wear it pretty much at 3 o'clock position and it almost never print unless I'm wearing too tight a shirt. If you can find an IWB holster that works for you, I'd go with that before putting your gun in a harder-to-draw smartcarry. There are many good sites with a thirty-day return policy, so maybe order a couple different ones and send back the ones you don't like.
