smallest available all steel sig in 9mm?

Whoops. I guess I meant 938 HD. Not 239. I have the 238 and they offer it in all steel.

After looking on the net it seems there isn't the same option in 9.

OP, IMO it's a shame you want all steel.:):) Might cause you to miss out on something great. I bought a SIG p239 SAS Gen 2 9mm a couple of years ago. It's a tremendous handgun! I also have the Sphinz Compact; about the same size, equally tremendous. Then, there's the DW Guardian 9mm. Plus, I have the plastic frame HK p30sk V1 decocker. They're all an ideal size (for me) and perform remarkably well.

But, I see your point. It's like that with triggers for me. I miss a lot of great guns because of my dislike of the trigger.

Good luck!:D

Most Sigs are alloy frames with stainless steel slides these days. There are a few all steel options but not many. P220 ST, P226 ST, P229 Elite Stainless etc but none of the smaller guns are all steel.
Kinda tells ya something right there. Guns aren't like baseball parks in corn fields. Quite the opposite. If you build it, it better have a demand, or they won't come.
In today's gun market, small, compact means light weight, and that means polymer most of the time, and alloy for the rest of them.

I think Cheapshooter's reasoning is exactly right. Still, there are some who like steel frames and I am one. I love my 238HD but am a tad confused by Sig's reasoning. It would seem to me that the 938 with its more energetic cartridge would be the candidate for the recoil-dampening steel frame HD, more than the extremely soft shooting 238. They clearly must sell enough to justify the steel frame that they have added the 238HD Nickel to the line-up just this year.

The 938HD shown in the catalog this year is a 938HD Nickel so I still have hope.

The only all stainless Sigs in 9mm I recall being made (for potential carry) were the Sig Elite 9mm's. Heavy guns, but nicely made.

I confess that after reading the OP, my immediate reaction was an assumption that the 938 was available in an HD model like the 238, and I am as baffled by its absence as previous posts. Sig seems to assume there aren't enough steel lovers among us, and now that I think about it I don't recall seeing an HD P238 in the flesh, only on the website.

I assure you the P238HD does exist in the flesh. I have one and have seen versions with G10 grips, rosewood grips and most recently the HD Nickel with Blackwood grips. They are out there.

The 938HD, on the other hand, is Bigfoot, a unicorn, a white buffalo, Quattro!
