I don't know what prices are on a new Rossi.
I don't really know what prices are on any new
stuff in the shop - I haven't been out looking
for a while.
I do know that when I bought my little snubbie,
it was at least a hundred dollars less than a
comparable Smith or Colt.
I have had mine for about 5 years. I shoot it
frequently and it is a superb little revolver.
I did not choose Rossi because of price. I went
in looking for either a Smith or a Colt for ccw.
The man at the store said he would be happy to
sell me anything I was willing to pay for, but
suggested that I give the Rossi a good lookover.
Out to about 15 yds, it is dead on and will put
rounds where ya want 'em - as distance increases,
accuracy diminishes a bit, but not as much as I
would have expected.
In my opinion, the trigger is nicer than the Colt
and Smith snubbies I tried out - and that was the
reason I bought it. I'm glad I did.
I prefer to carry my Glock 27, and I do when I can.
When the weather is warmer, and I am wearing a
T-shirt - the Rossi is easily concealed, where the
blockier Glock would be a little obvious. If I am
wearing heavier clothing, then I go back to the
Glock.
Holsters are easy to find for the Rossi, since it
is patterened after a S&W, and will fit as if made
specifically for the Rossi. I use a Gould & Goodrich
leather holster with thumbreak, and it all makes for
a very slim and lightweight package.
