Small Primer hole in 45ACP

I just toss 'em if I find 'em. Not worth the hassle.

They would make good ammo for where you cannot reclaim your cases.
Thats the first 'logical' use I've ever heard of! But still, the 'standard' .45 ACP cases are cheap and plentiful, so why bother.

Also, I wouldn't go to or be a member of a range that you can't retrieve your own brass...

In reading the posts here, it seems to be much to do about nothing. If checking the brass you pick up is too much of a chore then I suppose you do not bother with checking and sorting by head stamp.

But FREE brass is one of the benefits of reloading and reducing your costs of ammo. All that needs to be done is to sort and store the small pistol primer cases until you have a sufficient number of them for a run. Cost of storage is minimal and you will eventually obtain enough to make a run of re-loads without having to stop.

I have the same issue with 7.62x39 brass as well using both large rifle and small rifle primers depending on the manufacture of the original ammo. I would never consider tossing those cases since it is hard enough to come by (free) brass cases for that caliber.

Besides, who knows you may even find yourself happy that you saved those small pistol primer 45 auto cases when you run out of large pistol primers and there is another shortage on obtaining primers again.

Stay safe and shoot straight.

I use them when we run a match where you can't pick up your own brass.

I save them till I have enough to load a few hundred, then burn through them at a match.

You would be correct. Would be a waist of time for most pistol loads.

I separate and then load them when I have enough. ...piece of cake...

You are inspecting your cases right? Easy to toss them aside if you are....

Just finished inspecting a recondition-completed batch of 45 ACP that's been drying a couple days (from a ss pin tumble).

Found three of them little buggers - all Blazer. Into the coffee can they go.

I actually prefer the SP primed 45 ACP brass due to the fact that the 45 is the only pistol cartridge I own that takes a LP primer. If any of you guys have a bunch you want to unload just let me know. I found some online for $10 per 250 but haven't ordered any yet.

I case gauge every 45 acp round I shoot in competition but other than that I don't touch them.

Take clean cases and dump them into the roll sizer collator and after that they get dumped into the reloading machine collator.

I sort 45 ACP cases. I do not load 45 ACP cases with large flash holes. I have shot new 45 ACP rounds with small primer pockets, . I left them at the range.

Since I tumble with stainless steel pins and sort by headstamp, the small primer 45 Auto is set aside for use in lost brass matches.

That means I'm one of the &%#@)!> who blessed some of you with the small primer brass. :D

And if you decide to shoot the stuff at a match I'm working, it is fine since I have a good use for the small primer 45's!
