Not really trying to persuade but I carry a 9X18 Makarov when I feel the 1911 is too noticeable under a T shirt.

Either a military Bulgarian or East German ( I have two of each and except for a better finish on the EGs, I can't detect a difference between the two)

Despite the relatively compact size it is no lightweight because it is all steel. Really quite simple, accurate and utterly reliable.

The PP/PPS is a nice weapon and is a bit more compact and lighter. My uncle was in the Merchant Marine during WWII and brought home a PP (7.62) with a Nazi holster. I inherited it when he passed, but I don't shoot it as it is more a collector's item.

I never leave home without my 380 bodyguard. I got it for the same reasons the OP did. I needed a gun for easy concealment. I looked long and hard at a lot of different options. I ended up with the bodyguard because it was small easy to hide and I liked the second strike capability. The downsides I've found after over 500 rounds without issue is the accuracy. It's all over the place. Groups aren't anything spectacular. It's ok at 7 yards 15 is pushing it. For my stay at home dad budget it's fit the bill nicely. If I had a larger budget I probably would have bought a Sig p238. My mom just picked up a ruger LC9s. She seems to like it as well. I've never shot one personally so I can't really give an honest opinion.
