Small 9mm carry gun to round out my "collection"

Taurus PT111 G2. 12 rounds of 9mm goodness, with one of the best triggers and shortest resets you'll find on a striker gun. Double strike capability, and better than necessary accuracy.
Add "dead reliable" to that, then check the price...

Doesn't get any better than that. Taurus hit it WAY out of the park with this one.

One more vote for the LC9s. It is a fine little pistol. I don't need another carry gun right now, but when I do it will be the Ruger. That takes for granted that something new and improved hasn't come along...:D

S&W 3rd generation, I think model 3914 may be an option. It isn't a new gun but those late 80s early 90s S&Ws are great shooters

Guessing you didn't read the OP, but I am selling my PT111 G2 because I don't care for the trigger. If there was an aftermarket trigger that got rid of the mile long takeup, I'd probably keep it.

I highly recommend the Shield. Mine has functioned perfectly and is very accurate. I even like the trigger, have no idea why anyone complains, based on my experience.

I do not recommend the LC9. My LC9s would not feed hollow points with sufficient reliability for a defense gun. I have also had several recent new Ruger pistols that have not been up to snuff in terms of reliable functioning, and no longer trust this brand.

Two thumbs up on the S&W Shield 9. Love mine, have not had any problem feeding HP or el cheapo 115 Winchester white box target rounds. Deadly accurate at the ranges I normally shoot at 5, 7 and 15 yards.
