Slugs for defense

Any slug will stop somebody cold dead. No need for special anything. I would buy a pack of slugs or buckshot everytime you go to the store. You will slowly build up a good pile of ammo.

Head shot with 00 doesn't guarentee anything. We had a guy (Eugene Baylis?) who got flipped off by a couple bikers so showed up later in a biker bar to "get his respect back", and shot the place up with an illegally converted AK. Killed two IIRC. The C. Springs police head shot him with 00Buck. It did stop the action but the guy lived and was even able to stand to be cuffed. Range was 15 yds IIRC. He was standing in court within 2 days with a bunch of band-aids on his head! No armor, took some 9's to the body, and a 00 to the head. Sure, it stopped him...barely.

Point being, that 00 is not the be all end all that many will hope or think it is. I like slugs for inside and an AR for outside. (oo's just for whitetail isn't it?):D

That incident happened in the early 90's in C. Springs in a bar called Jim & I's on the corner of Fillmore & Nevada ave. The Bartender (P.K. Kline) was killed, as well as some guy outside (Steve somebody). The gunman went back to his truck to reload and the police engaged him from the corner of the spagetti diner and eventually nailed him when he was reloading.

I remember the incident real well I lived about 1/2 mi from there and went up & looked at the holes in the corner of the spagetti house, and it was all over the news but I don't have any specific links to anything. The Bartender was well liked so if you google his name maybe the story will pop up. I am going from memory here, myself.
