Slugs: 10 gauge vs 12 Gauge?

Glamdring, one "Major Disturbance"(Prison riot) I survived had "Multiple Baton" loads used following gas in a dormitory setting.For those unfamiliar with riot control, that load is wooden blocks with rounded edges, over an inch across and moving at more than 300 FPS. The gas gun was basically an M-79. I can just imagine the carnage with those slugs, or maybe a 2 1/2 oz load of 00.

But it'll take a younger and tougher man than me to shoot it much.
 
The US 40mm round used in the M-79 and M-203 is a very low-velocity load that "bleeds off" a large part of the launching charge. This is why the round STOPPED in Charlie's head. The 40mm used in the MK 19, OTOH, is a different critter.
