Single action Rugers Love em or hate em?

Yes Bullrock, very nice guns! Try www.legendaryguns.com - they might be able to help in the stainless New Vaquero dept.--if that's what you were referring to. Also, what was the complaint(s) about the Beretta when it first came out, was it legit and have they completely rectified? (something about fit & finish and not being "completely Uberti" and now it is--or some such?). Also is it true case hardened/heard the first ones at least were like the Ruger, "faux." Too bad Ruger is no longer offering the .44 Mag in the "old" style (meaning the bigger version that'd be more appropriate for the caliber anyway, I surmise)--as I believe that leaves us with no new (affordable) offerings in a Colt clone or fixed sight near clone in .44M.

I realize that the (old) Vaquero is "just" a fixed sight Blackhawk, but that (sight) aspect and resulting smooth form is what makes it -- and the Colt SAA/clones so appealing to me.

I have had the 7.5" .45 Colt Blackhawk for years. The 4.5" .45 Colt/.45 ACP convertible Blackhawk is a more recent addition.
The 7.5" model has taken 5 deer and a very large wild hog. The 4.5" mdoel is a dream to carry and cheap to shoot with bulk .45 ACP ammo.

This is a pic of the 7.5" with a Gerber stag bowie.

Over the years, I have owned Blackhawks in .357, .41, .45 Colt and a .44Mag Super BH. Currently have the glossy stainless "Sheriff's Model" .357 Vaquero, and a 50th Year Single-Six. I had a 'previously owned' Bearcat for a while, but it was a bit too small for my ham-fist & sausage-finger hands.

So, I suppose I might fit the description of "Luvs them SA Rugers" :p

I have a Super Blackhawk and really enjoy packing it when I'm out on my family's farm. Between the occasional mean dog and the drug activity out in the country now you never know what you'll run into. It shoots well, packs a good punch, and I like to occasionally taunt the Glock fanatics that my Ruger is a more reliable pistol :D
