Simo HayHa & the Finnish-Russian Winter War

Sullen? napoleon complex, prone to violence and drunkenness?

Husqavarna, that's freaky, are you watching me right now? I'm looking over my shoulder in a Napoleonic drunken rage.

I was actually more excited to find out that I had Finnish heritage rather than Swedish. No offense to the Swedes out there. Seems to me that the Finns faced more hostility during the Cold War and dealt with it on their own terms.

Never been there. My mom went last year and sent great pictures. Anyone know anything about the current Finnish gun control culture?

Sullen?, napoleon complex, prone to violence and drunkenness?finnsh have had periods of second class citizenship in attitude in Sweden, they were our country bumpkin neighbours (and once members of our "emipire") finns who moved to Sweden thruout history got the worst lands (called finnmarks)...

Husqvarna, have you run across this old saying (always heard in n. Canada in my youth)...

"A Finlander is just a Swede with his brains knocked out".

I later moved to the great lakes area and was advised by the local Finns that the adage was in fact correct & that I was showing my expected brain damage by reversing the subjects!
