Sig owners...Do you prefer Siglites or the standard "Dot the I" sights ??

I think I'm really having a hard time seeing the Siglites on my brand new P220 cause they dont have the white outer rings like the Mep's or Trijicons...I seem to shoot the standard Sig "Dot the I" sights much better...Which do you guys prefer & have you ever compared the two ?? Thanks...

I painted a circle AROUND the front sight lite on my 220. Used nail polish, but there are many other options. There have been several threads on sight paint.

Mine currently wear the trijicons, but I am looking for something better. I don't care for the dot the i either. The problem with finding good aftermarket sights is the shape of the top of the slide. I haven't found any aftermarket sights yet that look like they belong on the gun.

My P239 (which I don't have anymore) always had the dot-the-i sights on it. The way my eyes focus, three-dot sights are a nightmare for me. I think that's why I shoot so well with my Glock's, too. The sight pattern is just perfect.

I don't know about siglites, but dot the I sites take some getting used to. I finally found that when I bring the DOWN for sight alignment , look at the back sight while looking at the target. Sounds funny but can be done easily. Then align the front sight with the back. It gives very quick and accurate alignment. It works for me anyway. Good luck:)

Well you already know my feeling about the Siglites. I prefer three dot sights and Mepros are my favorite. If I get time today I am going to get some white sight paint and try filling in the siliver ring on the Siglites. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Since you are asking between the two, I personally prefer the dot ones over the diglites for the same reasons you have. The siglites are kinda small and hard to see. I don't have any problems with the three good sized white, round, 3 dot sights that they come with out of the factory. If I replace them, I think i would get me the night sights, if not, something easy to the eye for sighting.

My Sig came with a set of Trijicons installed...so I can't comment on the other sights...but I will say I do love the Trijicons.

Ihave the "Dot the I" sights on my 225. I shoot well with them. I had no trouble getting use to them. On the other hand.. if I were to install night-sights I would look to Heinie or Novaks. I've had great results with both.;)

Greeting's All,

I prefer, "dot the I" as I can't pick up SigLite's
on bright, sunny day's.

From the factory, the Kahr pistols come with the same "dot the i" sights that Sig has. The first time I saw them, I didn't like them. The first time I USED them, I wanted to change ALL my pistols over to them! I have Mepros on everything else, but REFUSE to trade the extremely quick "on target" time of the "i" configged sights.

I'm far sighted, and can't see well enough to focus on sights that close to my face, but since I only need glasses to read, the odds of me having them on when I need my pistol are ZERO, so I just shoot the way I have to shoot, and the Sig-style sights are THE BEST for me!
