I'll add my $0.02 on the topic- the P226 is the nicest 9mm handgun that I've ever had the pleasure of using. The only gun that I think may be better that is chambered in 9x19mm is the SIG P210, at more than double the cost.
I've seen used (exc. cond.) high-caps for about $40-60, depending on the vendor and they're well worth it. I would only consider using SIG-Sauer marked magazines or Mec-Gars. I missed a deal on some 17 rd. Mec-Gars for $45 ea. DOH.
IMHO, Trijicons are the only way to go on night sights- that is what Siglites are, just a different name.
For CCW, a P228 or a P239 are better choices, IMHO. However, if you're a big guy, I guess it's not a problem- a friend of mine carries a Glock 21 for CCW.
