I'm not sure if this has ever been posted before so sorry if it has.

In the near future the senate and house of reps. is overrun with liberals (like really liberal liberals) as well as the presidency. Anyway, guns of any sort are banned entireley, 2nd ammendment be damned. They have set a date 1 week from the law being passed where we are to turn in all of our firearms or be arrested, so what do you do. Ofcourse we (civvie gunowners) won't be alone, sureley some military servicemen/women and police will help us stop this but in any case, what do you do?

I would go AWOL and take my guns.
I refuse to defend a country that can't defend itself.
Until then, I will wear my uniform proudly.
 
First of all, how do liberals gain a majority in the house and senate in the first place. :confused: Hilary Clinton is the best thing to happen to the republicans since Abe Lincon. It will be a cold day in hell before they get back into power. Not with people like us on their a$$. Besides, they will try and defend themselves with an M-16 with a drum mag, spray the whole area with bullets (hitting nothing in the process), then we shoot them with a muzzleloader while they are trying to figure out how to reload. :p
 
Come see me when this happens. I will have a big supply of 12" PVC pipe, and supplies to bury your guns. :)
Seriously, If, god forbid, this ever happens how would you hide your guns?
Bury them?

Hiding guns

Places like Cheaperthandirt.com sometimes sell big mil surplus tubes with rubber gaskets that you could bury in a hole with a posthole digger.

seriously though, i have decided that total gun ban in the us is nearly improbable for two reasons:

1) 80 million gun owners is a lot of p'd off voters, too many for the politicians to risk (not to mention the fact that they have GUNS!)

2) money drives politics like water drives the grinding stone. have you seen midway usa or cabelas catalogs? how much money have you spent just on accessories for your firearms? there is WAY to much money involved in the hobby / sport / whatever of firearms for them to be totally banned. why would the politicos bite off one of the many hands that feeds them?
 
I don't see that scenario playing out in this country anytime soon, although it's certainly something regarding which we should all remain vigilant. Besides, haven't you heard? Hillary is becoming a moderate and I'll just betcha we'll be seein' her decked out in camo with a shotgun at a Cabellas near you one of these days. And John Dean, the new DNC chair and much maligned by the right for being part of the extreme left, is actually not too bad where it comes to 2nd Amendment issues. Same goes for the Senate Minority leader, can't think of his name offhand but he's from Nevada. In fact, there is considerable sentiment afoot in the Democratic party to completely remove gun-control from the party platform. The moderates and even some of the idealogues in the party see it as a loser issue for them. That said, we'll never see the conversion of the likes of Teddy, John Kerry, Diane Slimestein, or Chuckie Schumer.....and maybe not Hillary either.....but the trend at the moment seems to be going our way.
 
I could do some chest thumping but to answer honestly, I don't know. I would hope that we could see this coming and then take the matter up beforehand but if it were unstoppable, then, I really don't know. Maybe just load up all my guns and grease enough palms in Mexico to move there.

Yea, it will probably be like John K's lame attempt to make friends with gun owners. She will probably buy an AK and take it dove hunting. :p Then say that she "understands" gun owners. :barf:
 
I think we'd all have to join a militia and fight a guerrilla war against the black ski masks. I don't understand the people who'd wanna bug out. Where you gonna go to, Canada? Mexico? Please...

While certainly appealing, I must say no. I'd register as a conciencous(sp?) objecter though, and make sure they know why, while setting up to get out.

Couple things I have been thinking about just lately...

Bury them now, and they banned them all.

One, the time to bury them is NOW while the small scale confiscations are going on. Yo get a class 2 misdemeanor fo rjaywalking, BOOM no firearms rights anymore. You get some lunatic woman from the office pissed off because you were promoted ahead of her, she calls in an assault charge, BOOM no guns for you, buddy! Just banned 50's in Connecticut- no grandfathering, turn them in or face arrest. Boom again.
Anything not papered (and not specifically for carry or home defense) should not be kept in your home or office. Pass the PVC.
So NOW is the time to bury them.
If a 'wholesale' confiscation ever occurs, it is time to dig them up again.

The other thing is about bannign all guns. they wont. They would them mobilize a large group of angry folks at once. No, they will keep at it piecemeal and then finally leave a group or two who can still enjoy their firearms: in pre-wwII germany any good Nazi could own and carry a firearm. it was everyone else who couldn't. So the leftys will allow all who swear allegiance to their regime to keep them. Why else would you federalize all security employees and law enforcement?

I didn't say that I would because I don't know. The only thing that I can think of is that we are all over the US (and other places) and not able to muster a quick team for survival and or fighting. I'm sure that if something like this happened there would be very restrictive travel (show me your papers and such) with searches.

As for burying them, I don't think that this would work. With all the atf forms being looked at, just for names and addresses, not worrying about the type/model/etc. of the gun(s) owned, they would just do door to door searches for them if you EVER owned one in your life, most likely complete with under the ground searches.

I guess that one could "make a stand" but they will ensure that it's a media circus as they basically execute you. Most except for the most hard corp. will bow down IMHO.

Those with families would must likely give them up and then try to fight the complete ban through whatever legal means that they could, not wanting their families to be murdered by the disarmers.

So, my answer is just, I don't know what I would/will do.
